A Bush Hater's Poll
Jim Robinson

Posted on 07/10/2002 11:27:06 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

This is an unofficial quick and dirty presidential poll. Apparently, there is a good sized contingent on Free Republic that believes that President Bush is:

  1. Not conservative enough
  2. Not pro-life
  3. Is a gun-grabber
  4. Is a federal power-grabber
  5. Will appoint liberal judges
  6. Is a globalist
  7. Is in it just for oil
  8. Is too soft on immigration
  9. Is too soft (or too hard) on Israel
  10. Is a crook
  11. All of the above
  12. None of the above
  13. Other (you name it)

Please list the numbers that best match the reasons you don't like Bush (or state other reasons if not on the list) and state whether you believe that President Bush should be defeated even if it means installing a Democrat in the Whitehouse.

Conversely, if you believe President Bush should be re-elected, please state why.

Please state who you would like to see win the Presidency in 2004 and whether or not you believe he/she has a chance of winning.

Thanks,
Jim

I agree with part of what you say but if both parties are heading in the same wrong direction, the only difference being how fast they will arrive at their destination, then what do you do?

[Alan Keyes/Walter Williams] Great ticket that most conservatives would be thrilled to vote for.

Did you notice that Alan Keyes ran for president in both 1996 and 2000? Did you notice that he got a lot of support on FR? Did you notice that he did not get a lot of votes?

Either you are wrong, or there aren't many conservatives out there.

Are you thinking about this series of posts that I have made on this thread. I am right...

My most charitable thought about your series of posts is that I very much admire your idealism.

What makes you think that you are right and everyone else is wrong?

Ron Paul comes to mind, and Allen Keyes.

See #1343.

If you're such a Keyes fan, you really *should* learn to spell his name correctly. As a sign of respect, if nothing else.

You are finally catching on . Damn you still appear to be exhausted though . It is called conviction if it has not dawned upon you .

The GOP will always be the same if solid folks turn there backs away from the problems , hello ? You can bail if you like ; and take your screen name with you .

I dont believe that is the case at all . If you recall that the man is a politician . What is it do you think that they do ?

Do you not believe for 1 minute that your candidate ( If he ever gets over himself ), would not disappoint you ? Not ever right ?

I know for a fact the same holds true for Ron Paul . So when this does happen , who will you and like minded people run to next ?

. In a free country, government has no right to tell me who to admit to my private property or who I will or won't serve while they are here.

I agree.

Yes, He went to the Republican Party. He votes the Constitution. He IS a libertarian and believes abortion is murder.

If he messes up I will vote for someone that I think believes the same way Paul votes.

What has he done that was enough? Or are you being sarcastic and referring to the harm he has done to the conservative agenda?

Actually I was referring to what HE might be thinking if he decided not to run. I reserve judgement until after the mid term elections. Of course anyone deciding not to go for a second term would say something like, "I have done what I can for the American People." It could be many generations before the country sees someone bow out like LBJ did.

President Bush SHALL be the GOP candidate in the 2004 election and WILL get my vote. There isn't a Conservative fringe candidate, who can win , and NO third party deserves to win ! Not ready for " prime time " , fits ALL of them ( no matter who they may be ! ) and the off the wall / whacky positions, which have been / are continually espoused by them, insures that these fringe parties will be OUT IN THE COLD , for infinity.

To those, who erroniously and dangerously think that defeating Bush and having an all Dem led nation will jump start " the revolution ", I say fie ! It didn't happen when Clinton wasn't thrown out of office, and it's NOT ever going to happen with an all Dem controlled government. If President Bush isn't CONSERVATIVE enough , for you, that's too bad ; no one...not even Ronald Reagan was ! If you claim that it's " principles " , that spur you; then it is those " principles ", which can only make your lives far worse, should a damned Dem become president. Oh, and a huge NO to your hallucinations about what the FFs would think / say/ did indeed think and / or say !

President Bush, for two terms, is the ONLY thing, which stands between this country's survival as a Republic, and it being something else.

This isn't a personal attack; just a statement of fact... IF ANYONE IS DELUSIONAL, IT'S YOU.

I've read your post and keep wondering why you don't know / understand politics and historical facts better. The heros, who fought and died , at Iwo and other places, didn't do so for Conservative ideals. They did so, for the nation ; which isn't now, nor has EVER been the kind of " conservative " country, that you imagine it to have been. The FFs were elititsts , who thought correctly ( if you are an example ) , that the " common man " wasn't intelligent / well educated enough to actually choose the president and Senators.

As far as your peculiar choices of alternatives, you REALLY need to become more conversant with these people. Your idols have feet ( and calves and knees and thighs and hips and stomachs and chests and throats ! ) of clay. They , especially Alan Keyes , are NOT paragons of virtue. Oh, and you especially need to investigate just what a president is permitted to do( by law ) and what he isn't. As far too many other FREEPERS and you seem to want him to be, it appears that what you REALLY want, is a dictator; someone who will fulfill ALL of your desires, and the heck with what is lawful / workable / feasible.

Hey, I have an idea.

Let's close down this unproductive, divisive, and pointless thread, and get on with the business of winning conservative victories in real politics!

Cheers,

Richard F.
