A Bush Hater's Poll
Jim Robinson

Posted on 07/10/2002 11:27:06 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

This is an unofficial quick and dirty presidential poll. Apparently, there is a good sized contingent on Free Republic that believes that President Bush is:

  1. Not conservative enough
  2. Not pro-life
  3. Is a gun-grabber
  4. Is a federal power-grabber
  5. Will appoint liberal judges
  6. Is a globalist
  7. Is in it just for oil
  8. Is too soft on immigration
  9. Is too soft (or too hard) on Israel
  10. Is a crook
  11. All of the above
  12. None of the above
  13. Other (you name it)

Please list the numbers that best match the reasons you don't like Bush (or state other reasons if not on the list) and state whether you believe that President Bush should be defeated even if it means installing a Democrat in the Whitehouse.

Conversely, if you believe President Bush should be re-elected, please state why.

Please state who you would like to see win the Presidency in 2004 and whether or not you believe he/she has a chance of winning.

Thanks,
Jim

But...whenever the Republicans have stood firm on conservative issues..they win big....ala Reagan..and the "Contract with America".

That deserves repeating, for sure!! :-)

While opposed to abortion, I'm not sure that it should be the main concern of a president, or even of the federal government. (I think perhaps Roe v. Wade should have been decided by the USSC using the 10th amendment.)

The state's rights angle on this has always been a red herring.

It is a federal civil rights issue of the highest order.

The legalization of abortion by judicial fiat, and its practice, is a direct violation of the 5th Amendment.

I would like to see a Libertarian as President (not Browne, but one who realizes we have to fight Al Quaeda, there are many.)

I voted for Browne, not that I wanted him for President, but because I could not vote for Bush or Gore.

I wonder if we can get Ron Paul to run?

Read the life of George Washington. He himself left such a lengthy paper trail, you cannot mistake, by reading his papers, exactly the kind of person he was.

Yep. All written on hemp paper. That is why we can still read it.

Sorta like the bois de arc trees (horse apple trees) they don't rot.

That's an odd twisting of Lott's words. He was obviously talking about the Democrats declaring that no matter what evidence was presented or what witnesses testified to, NONE OF THEM WOULD VOTE TO CONVICT!

Resigned to that reality Lott did what he thought would limit the damage to the amazingly brave people who voted to convict.

Your mistating of the truth shows you're willing to lie and mangle events in order to trash Bush.

You obviously don't understand the decades of tradition that prevent one president from criticizing another. Bush 41 wouldn't do it and Bush 43 won't do it, which shows how extraordinarily smart he is because the Democrats in the press are just waiting for it.

Your warped view has toxified your brain and exposed your agenda. But I love it when people like you pretend they're "conservstives". Must be one of them "principled" conservatives.

What do you suggest, Nationalizing the corporations?
# 51 by Texasforever

*************************

I would suggest that President Bush confine himself to his Constitutionally defined duties. Protecting the pensions of corporate stockholders are not among those duties.

George Washington would be disgusted.

Yes, I believe he would be disgusted.

And so should we be disgusted.

And this is the group right here who intend to deny Bush that chance. And they're doing it ON PURPOSE.

Oh, DANG Howlin, I didn't vote for GW. But when he won, I wanted to support him.

He does not allow me to support him. He might as well be Gore.

And when you get caught you always try to spin out of it and use the old "try to stay on topic" line. Comeon Askole,

Hmmm.........seems like name calling time.

I always check back to what some one is replying to.

You make no sense and you are attacking a freeper that most of us agree with.

Write in's are a wakeup slap to the Republican Party. You will N E V E R move the country right, voting for the likes of Bush, so your vote is wasted anyway.

To loosely quote Churchill, "Never, never, never, never, never, never...give up!!"

But why?

GW is pushing a lot more than we would ever have let Gore get away with.

I don't believe Churchill would have agreed with the crap GW is doing.

I wish we had Maggie back in England.

I trust her.

Then Bush is your man

Bush? Bush?? Oh Yeah!!! Now I remember. That is the guy who once told the military that "Help is on the way!" Then later caved in and put our Warriors under the power of a NWO "War Crimes" Kangaroo Court.

Is that the Bush you mean? I may vote for him again. But it will be because I am scared to death of having any 'Rat in the White House during War time. Not because I think he is a Hero. And I don't think the GOP cause is served by trying to make him pass as a Hero.

He didn't even serve in Viet Nam when he had the opportunity. Air National Guard in Texas during the Viet Nam War is good enough for the Mail Man who delivers my letters or even for the Dentist who fills my teeth. But it is a little shy of the mark for one aspires to command our military. Just MHO.

I am currently incapable of worshiping Bush. Ask me again when he has spoken out loudly and plainly to defend the unborn, support the second amendment, defend our national sovereignty and denounce Bill and Hillary as the treasonous criminals they are.

When he has made a start on that simple agenda I will applaud him. Until then I will only vote for him as the lesser of two evils. I am sorry but that is all the Bush support of which I am capable.
