Robert Saffer, of Brooklyn, N.Y., left, and Josephine Silia, of Fort Lee, N.J., protest President George Bush's proposed crackdown on corporate chicanery -- charging he continues to protect big-money interests, outside his speech, Tuesday, July 9, 2002, in New York. President Bush called for stiff new penalties for corporate criminals and a crackdown on boardroom scandals Tuesday, promising in a speech on Wall Street that his administration would "end the days of cooking the books, shading the truth and breaking our laws." Saffer said the shape of their signs refers to the pretzel Bush choked on in January. (AP Photo/Suzanne Plunkett)

The good Lord knew what He was doing when He got Adam and Eve to sew fig leaves together and cover their ever-loving heinies.

Not to mention Phish fans aren't particularly known for their dedication to personal hygene.

I challenge anyone to find a photo of a misspelled pro-Clinton impeachment or pro-Bush sign and post it.

Republicans are smarter!

"Resignate" must be part of a new language of protesting.
One of the anagrams of "resignate" is "it's a genre".

I think that "resignate" was intentional -- it was meant to be reminiscent of "strategery." The rest is unliteracy.

Actually, with all due respect to Bush, I believe that the use of "resignate" is a reference to a misstatement made by Bush at one time. I believe he once said "resignate" when he meant "resonate."

It doesn't really matter. Appearance is everything. The signs make them look like fools, whether "resignate" was intentional or not. And like you said, the "to/too" thing can't possibly be part of the joke. It has no possible relation to anything Bush has ever said (you can't prove a homophone has been misspoken), and it's an extremely common mistake made by stupid people. Which these smelly granola-crunchers obviously are.
