CBS Market Watch "Big Charts" Web Site ^ | 7/10/2002 | MarketWatch.com

12:57PM Halliburton responds to Judicial Watch lawsuit (HAL) by Michael Baron Halliburton (HAL) is off 30 cents, or 2.1 percent, to $13.82, in midday action. The company is out with a press release responding to a lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch, a Washington, D.C.-based legal watchdog group. The suit alleges fraudulent accounting practices at Halliburton took place during the period when current vice president Dick Cheney served as its chairman and CEO. Halliburton called the claims in the suit, "untrue, unsupported, and unfounded." The company continued: "We are working diligently with the SEC to resolve its questions regarding the company's accounting procedures. Halliburton has always followed and will continue to follow guidelines established by the SEC and GAAP, General Accepted Accounting Principles."

You can't stand by it if you stand by this:

We all already know that anybody who isn't of the same religion as you are is anti-Christian.

Oh really, where did I say that? Or are you like the All-Knowing Oz?

Since this subject isn't being dropped, let me ask you this same question again.

Is it possible to be non-Christian without being anti-Christian?

I believe the crux of the church's opposition to lodges is because they are viewed as syncretistic. I do not think that axiomatically indicates "evil" or "anti-Christian".

I interpret it more narrowly and see the church's view as being that lodges practice unionism by worshiping with others that do not worship the same God. That is a rightful objection.

As a Christian, the Scriptures tell me to not be "unequally yoked with unbelievers". However, I do not consider them evil or Christian hating.

My non-Lutheran grandpa was a Mason. He was surely a Christian and not a bit evil. So go figure, huh?

Is it possible to be non-Christian without being anti-Christian?

.....and could you add, "Is it possible to be a Gentile without being an anti-semite.?"

The answers to both questions have to be the same.

I'm glad that you see it that way, but it seems that Registered might not agree with that view when he seems to agree with the logic of the author of this:

The Grand Master informed me that Freemasonry accepts for membership men of every faith or religion, so long as the prospective member believes in a Supreme Being (whomever he may be) and in the resurrection of the body to a future life (however and through whomever that was accomplished.) This was a great shock to me. I had not realized that those who were members of anti-Christian religions could become Masons.

The information that Registered linked seems to support the premise that any organization that includes members that do not worship Jesus is anti-Christian. I am trying to understand if that is his belief as well.

So on what day will this thread pass the DOW?

BTW, I heard that if you take a dollar bill with that Mason symbol on the back and fold it a certain way you can see a thong.

If certain ones of us disagree, it will become his belief, if it isn't already. ;-)

No kidding, if the thread is connected to the Dow, let's get it up to 10,000!

How long does the thread have to be to set a record?

I don't exactly know but there was a thread that got transferred to the religion forum that had well over 32,000 posts and still going the last time I looked (months ago).

As for disagreeing with Registered, it seems easy enough to do, especially if his answer to my question is as I suspect it to be.

Lesse, "help from God" followed by calling someone an anus. Hmm....so, which "god" to you call on? The same as the Keyelaymanites?
