Halliburton Responds to Larry Klayman's Supersillyous Suit(My Title)
CBS Market Watch "Big Charts" Web Site ^ | 7/10/2002 | MarketWatch.com

Posted on 07/10/2002 11:04:03 AM PDT by SierraWasp

12:57PM Halliburton responds to Judicial Watch lawsuit (HAL) by Michael Baron Halliburton (HAL) is off 30 cents, or 2.1 percent, to $13.82, in midday action. The company is out with a press release responding to a lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch, a Washington, D.C.-based legal watchdog group. The suit alleges fraudulent accounting practices at Halliburton took place during the period when current vice president Dick Cheney served as its chairman and CEO. Halliburton called the claims in the suit, "untrue, unsupported, and unfounded." The company continued: "We are working diligently with the SEC to resolve its questions regarding the company's accounting procedures. Halliburton has always followed and will continue to follow guidelines established by the SEC and GAAP, General Accepted Accounting Principles."

"He's going to wind up looking very, VERY bad in this. There's no "there.......there"."

Intensely well stated!!! Thanks for the "insiders" viewpoint. It's embarrassing to watch a fool expose himself!!!

"... When Judicial Watch went after the Clinton, they were called a "right-wing group". Now that JW is going after Cheney, they are now listed as a "public interest group". Sometimes, the media can't help but show its bias."

This afternoon NPR has reported the JW suit against Cheney EVERY 15 minutes. When JW had 6 or 8 lawsuits against Clinton administration members NPR said nary a peep and when they did they characterized JW as "conservative."

Now, all of a sudden, JW has become an "independent citizens group" or a "leading watchdog group" -- These folks are utterly shameless!

I was out in my car this evening when they had the ABC radio newsbreak that talked about this lawsuit filed by a public interest watchdog group that was also looking for information on the Cheney Energy committee. Ann Compton would not use the name Larry Klayman and Judicial Watch.

That's okay! I had to shorten the screen name because I figured Phi Kappa Sigma Mom was too long!

I enjoyed reading what you had to say.

You ever have one of those instinct moments -- Klayman was mine 6-9 months ago. Since then a lot of what I thought might be of the tin foil hat variety has turned out to be true when it comes to klayman and the clintons.

Think when klayman hired Verney (sp) to head his Dallas office all sorts of bells went off. Having suffered in TX with my kids and the Perot TAAS fiasco for Ma Richards, Perot was not high on my list to begin with. All of a sudden it all made sense! I always thought that perot got back in the campaign thanks to clinton in order to help clinton defeat Pres Bush. Perot loved every minute of sticking it to Pres Bush as he detests the Bush Family.

Sure wish we could connect Klayman and Carville to meeting or even talking back in 1992. That would really make my day.

Thanks for the kind words.

Don't take this stuff too seriously. It's only a grain of sand among the sea shores of the world. The sun will rise tomorrow as surely as there is a God. Life will go on and with time it will all work out as it should.... VP Cheney has very capable counsel and they can handle the little 'eww' drip. In a couple of days it will die down as it will take a long time to work it's way up the docket in the court system. There maybe a hearing to two for motions, dismissals etc. but that will be about all for a while, imo.

My solicitations from Klayman ended up in File 13 until my mailman told me that if I wanted to get back at JW, send them back refused and they would have to pay postage. Didn't take long and I had no more filling up my File 13!

Thank you. Not sure how much of an "insider" I am, per se'..........but I CAN say that they've been incredibly stand-up in their business practices that I have seen (and that's been a lot). Good people; honorable people.........and damned hard working people. That includes the executives, by the way.

Perot went on Larry King in 2000 and came out for GW. Do you think that was just to cover his butt for what he planned in 2002? I have been trying to figure this out. There certainly does seem to be a grand conspiracy going on right now...full-court press against the President.

I would just love to see klayman squashed like a bug. It's funny - before I became a Bush supporter I was a pretty mild-mannered person. Now I am out for bloody revenge against the media and all RATS (and mccain)! :-)

I remember when he did that but I have never trusted him. I have wondered why he did that! Now I think I am beginning to come to the realization that maybe he was covering up the fact that he and clinton were in cohoots in 1992. Something was wrong with that whole scenario on Larry King -- IOTW -- it stunk!

According to the 2000 form 990 filing JW had miscellaneous income from merchandise sales of $8,484..... Have you ever seen any of these items in someone's possession? I never have.

He probably sold all the stuff to his employees (and two or three Freepers, who shall remain nameless). I'll bet Klayman makes them carry that badge.

Larry is a jerkoff ambulance chasing schiester who has yet to win 1 of his 795 lawsuits! He would file a lawsuit against his colon if it didn't pass a Klayman...I mean stool.

Hey Larry! Its been damn near 2 years since the Clintons left office. Which jail did you put them in?

I watched Klayman on Aaron Brown. I'll skip most of the details, but I'll give you a link to the transcript tomorrow.

Larry's hair was less poufy that it was this morning at the press conference. He does have a nice tan, but his face was exceptionally shiny and just a little sweaty, around that place my daughter called her "drippers" (I believe they're called the nares, but I'm not going to get that technical).

Brown let Larry go through his talking points, no tough questions. Larry bandied around words like "hypocrisy" and "fraud" along with "creative accounting." He quoted John Adams on ethics. I lost my appetite for my popcorn rapidly.

Don't make me go through this again. The next guest (or one after) was John McCain. I didn't watch.

You're right. Most of the time Judicial Watch didn't get publicity when it went after Clinton. This story was on the news all day today.
