Welcome to the USO Canteen FReeper Style

Message from Snow Bunny to all those who visit the Canteen.
This is how I think of the USO Canteen Freeper Style. It is like a cottage down a road,
a place where a weary veteran can spend the night.

Since it opened it is magical how so many Freepers that post here feel it too.
It has been so dear how the Freepers
kept making it a cottage - a home-type of place
that had a huge living room
for them to visit in and a dance floor, a library, etc.

Many Veterans have written to me, saying that the Canteen is like home
to them for the first time since they served.

This is your Canteen - a respite from our busy
 and sometimes troubling world.
 Make yourself at home.

Our Flag does not only fly at our homes and other buildings.
Our Flag goes to War,it is in the Battle along side our fighting men and women.
And our Flag flys in our HEARTS!

Our American Flag always shines brightly, Always. It aquires its brilliance from the American veterans who have fought and died to preserve it. This flag is our nations very highest honor. There is none higher.

This flag is offered by a grateful nation and the American veterans who have fought and died to preserve it. This flag is given by the United States of America in memory of your loved one. It is for their honorable and faithful service to our beloved country.

I pledge allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it stands,
       one nation, under God, indivisible,
with liberty and justice for all.

issued what would be his last order.......

"Keep up the fire!"
"Keep up the fire!" has since been the motto

Well, Mom is originally from Mississippi (Bolton; she attended Millsaps), but I don't know if her father was. Our ancestry on her side can be traced right back to where they live now -- Wilson County, Tennessee.

The President of the United States, George W. Bush, has asked that all
Americans and Canadians unite together in a common cause to root out
 terrorists hiding in our community.

Since the Taliban cannot stand nudity and consider it a sin to see a
naked woman that is not one's wife, on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
EST, all North American women are asked to walk out of their house
completely naked to help weed out any neighborhood terrorists.
Circling your block for one hour is recommended for this anti terrorist
 effort.

All men should position themselves in lawn chairs in front of your house
to prove that you think it's OK to see other women nude. (Since they
do not approve of alcohol, a cold six-pack at your side is further proof
 of your anti-Taliban sentiment.)

Names and addresses of non participants should be sent to
 CIA Headquarters, Langley, Virginia.

The United States of America appreciates your efforts to root out
terrorists and applauds your efforts. Please, by all means, send this
to your fellow Patriots to ensure 100% participation.

 Thank you for your participation,

Bill Clinton, Former President of the United States
