VICE PRESIDENT CHENEY SUED PERSONALLY FOR ALLEGED STOCK FRAUD
Alleged Fraudulent Accounting Practices Occurred At Halliburton
PRESS CONFERENCE
Date: July 10, 2002
Time: 9:00 A.M.
Location: Sheraton Hotel Parlor 1, 495 Brickell Ave Miami, FL
(Washington, D.C.) Judicial Watch, the group that investigates and prosecutes corruption by government officials, announced today that it is filing a shareholders suit in Dallas, Texas, against Vice President Dick Cheney and the other involved directors of Halliburton, as well as Halliburton itself, for alleged fraudulent accounting practices which resulted in the overvaluation of the companys shares, thereby deceiving investors and others.
The suit comes one day after President George W. Bush, who himself is enmeshed in allegations of insider trading when he was an executive, who sat on the audit committee of Harken Energy Company, announced a plan to crack down on corporate fraud. Ironically, it would appear that the Presidents rush to propose more regulation of private industry is intended to deflect attention away from his and his Vice Presidents own alleged improper business practices. President Bush has maintained that he was cleared by the Securities and Exchange Commission. Others have countered that the head of the agency was then an appointee of his father, President George H.W.Bush.
President Clinton and the Democratic Party used a similar gambit when they were caught taking money illegally from foreign donors, including the Communist Chinese. Instead of prosecuting vigorously the Clintons and other guilty politicians, new campaign finance laws were proposed to deflect attention away from alleged crimes.
Whether it is the Enron, Arthur Andersen, Global Crossing, or now the Halliburton and Harken scandals, there is a dangerous intersection between politicians of all stripes, Democrat and Republican, attempting to feed at the trough of business greed. As is true of the Clinton scandals, the American people cannot look the other way just because the President and Vice President are allegedly involved. Indeed, Judicial Watch has already sued Democrat and Republican officials in the Enron and Global Crossing scandals. To look the other way for the Vice President would be to set a precedent that the Washington elite are above the law. This cannot be permitted if our democracy is to survive, stated Judicial Watch Chairman and General Counsel Larry Klayman.
In 1995 Halliburton was prosecuted and forced to plead guilty to trading with Libya, a terrorist state on the U.S. watch list.
A press conference will be held in Miami at 9:00 A.M. at the Sheraton Hotel at 495 Brickell Avenue to announce and detail this suit.

Ha ha. One of Larry's ardent followers here at FR (SHE shall go nameless lest I conjure her up) posted a huge long list of Larry's accomplishments. The only one in the "win" column was the thing with his mom. Everything else on the list was minor tactical maneuvering-- you know-- asking for a delay, etc.

ALAN KEYES WANTS KLAYMAN AS ATTORNEY GENERAL
JUDICIAL WATCH TEAM HEADS TO PANAMA-WHERE CLINTON & ALBRIGHT WON'T DARE TO TREAD
"THE JUDICIAL WATCH REPORT" SHOW BREAKS NEWS & VIEWS
(Washington, D.C.) Today, on The Judicial Watch Report, Presidential Candidate Alan Keyes named his choice as Attorney General, Larry Klayman. While Klayman has found his calling as Chairman of Judicial Watch, he was flattered by the vote of confidence. Keyes stated:
"I think that we need to put someone in as Attorney General who, among other things, will enforce the law and then get to the truth on behalf of the American people and there's nobody that has been doing that with greater courage and effectiveness-even without any kind of official position-than Larry Klayman."
Also on The Judicial Report, Larry Klayman and Tom Fitton discuss their legal attempts to block transfer of the Panama Canal, and Klayman's trip to Panama this week to attend the "transfer" ceremony and investigate Communist Chinese control of the canal. Accompanying Klayman will be a team of Judicial Watch experts as well as Howard Phillips of the Conservative Caucus.
During the show Paul Rodriguez of Insight magazine discussed his current article, "Former Aide Fights White House Abuse Alone" and Armstrong Williams analyzed current political dynamics in Washington.
Archives of this week's and previous broadcasts of The Judicial Watch Report are available at www.judicialwatch.org. A complete listing of the show's affiliates is also available on the site. The Judicial Watch Report can be heard in the Washington D.C. area, from 9-11 Wednesday evening on AM 570 WWRC.

Even one real lawyer on the other side would be one too much for the incompetent Klayman.

Yeah he's crazy--as a fox. When Klayman was going after Clinton, all you Freepers were saying YEA! GO LARRY GO!.
Now that he's going after just another group of corrupt politicians----this time the Republicans.
All I can say is GO LARRY GO!

The contributions which I and others have given to JW over the years based on their false representations totally eclispe the meager amounts which Klayman's "clients" are alleged to have been harmed by Enron, Halliburton, Loral, etc., etc., etc. We really should consider a class action suit.

Can you understand that when Larry went after the Clintoons the suit was one of few he had going? You betcha everyone wanted him to make Clinton miserable! But now Larry's apparent goal has degenerated so that he just files lawsuits. And nothing ever happens in any of them. And he just keeps asking people to send him money. He's brought nothing (except his mother's lawsuit) to fruition. Is it so hard for you to understand that Larry is all talk and no action?

When I first posted that I thought Klayman was working in concert with the clintons I did so as a hunch -- IMO it is no longer a hunch. It just made perfect sense as he was all about discovery which allowed the clintons to know exactly what was out there against them while at the same time Klayman was raking in money from conservatives for going after the clintons.
Can anyone tell me just what was discovered by Klayman that wouldn't have come out anyways? Once Klayman sued and information started flowing as part of discovery, the clinton spinmeisters hit the TV circuit blaming a conservative watchdog group and nothing much came of his lawsuits. In fact in his lawsuits, he would allege the wrongdoing so they were able to get out ahead of anything adverse even before discovery. What if the clients had used a reputable law firm and sued the clintons -- maybe the cases would have gone to trial instead of being dropped after discovery and all the paperwork flowing back and forth.
I find it odd that this is about Cheney and Halliburton right down where little big ears Perot lives and works. Don't know if it is fact, but I was informed by another Freeper that Klayman was part of Perot's 1992 failed campaign. If that is so, then he would be part of the "Hate Bush Family" of the Perot folks! Although Perot did mellow after clinton was in office.
Believe if anyone really tracked Klayman and what he has been up to they will find that trail somehow leading right to the clintons and the DemocRATS.
Note: His list of donors is classified since he obviously is not going to release them. Why doesn't he want folks to know who is donating?

Been saying all along that Klayman, Keyes, and Kristol are hooked in together somehow.
Wouldn't it be a hoot if how they were hooked in was that they are DemocRATS pretending to be Republicans? I know that is a stretch but after what I have been observing of the three going after the Bush Administration I do have to wonder. Some of their attacks make absolutely no sense and seem orchestrated to correspond to what the DemocRATS are bringing out.

If I can still find one I think I'll order a PsiCorps badge instead. "The Corps is Mother, the Corps is Father" or under Chairman Klayman "The Watch is Mother, The Watch is Father."
