Will they be looking at McAuliff's $18M profit on $100K investment?

The store my sister has worked for has been in Chapter 11. The top officers had written into their contracts that they would get severance if they couldn't pull the store back into fiscal solvency, to the tune of millions of dollars.
Guess what? They couldn't do it, despite their best efforts of ordering fancy remodeling, signing exhorbitant leases, and generally spending money like drunken sailors. They get to retire to Florida with their millions, and the average employee doesn't even get 2 weeks severance.
I hope the DOJ goes after these crooks. (Not naming the firm because I don't want to get my sister in trouble.)

Penalizing those responsible for fraud (when found guilty in court) is Liberial in what way?

"...greed and deceit and theft," Those three little words describe the entire Klintoon era!
To: Carolinamom
carolinamom....he is right in the cross hairs...
To: nicmarlo
He put out an EO, wants more money for the SEC, and calls for the creation of a panel under the Ast. AG to keep em in line. Keeps it all under the executive branch appointees. No call for RICO charges on the crooks uncovered so far, so it looks like they are home free. Just mid term election noise

DJ30 seems to be dropping steadily since the Bush speech. Probably not related.

...watching her head spin would work for me...LOL! That would do.
The turning point for my very liberal mother-in-law's worship of hitlery was in President Bush's speech to the nation when the camera showed her barely clapping and looking disgusted. That day she started liking GWB....and disliking the clintons. It showed her for what she truly is, even to those who wanted to like her.

Actually Harkin was mentioned after the speech, by Greenfiels on CNN. Lou Dobbs politely but firmly handed Greenfield his head, pointing out that that issue had been settled and, silly season notwithstanding, was going no-where. Thank you, Lou Dobbs. (Dobbs and Jack Cafferty are the only reason I still check out CNN.)

I hope you are correct about targeting McAwful... hard to believe GOP will grow a spine, let alone cajones.

Probably crooked CEO's selling stock before they get caught.
I would look for major off-shore movement of money, as well as a sudden upsurge in vacation home purchases in countries without extradition agreements with the USA.
To: Miss Marple
Sounds like a terrific place for the president's new "corporate fraud SWAT team" to start their swatting.
(I hope you're sister's okay)
To: RedBloodedAmerican
Woops, that turned out larger than expected! Anyone want it on a new thread?
To: mewzilla
I love Lou Dobbs when he so slyly bitch slaps Aaron Brown
..Dobbs is a great Childress Texas boy..
To: Doctor Stochastic
I have a sneaking suspision that banning any corporate big-wig convicted of fraud from again serving on a publicly-held company's board is sending some folks out for Maaloxx. Anyone know how many of the CEOs have certified the accuracy and fairness of last year's numbers?
