The President gave a strong speech. We know full well that CNN is going to rip him apart - which bill schneider, jeff greenfield, john king and aaron brown are doing right now. This is no surprise. There are two themes: Bush is dishonest about Harken and has no moral credibility - He didn't go far enough like the democrats. Aaron Brown was very unhappy when Lou Dobbs pointed out that most voters blame clinton, not Bush. He frowned and replied, "Well, clinton won't be on the ballot in November." He was pissed and did not want clinton brought into this at all.
greenfield going on and on about Bush's business ethics. Says this will now haunt him and will not end. So much for objectivity and fairness, right. Same old, same old.

Yes, Brit Hume was talking to the Fox All-Stars last night about just that.
The form announcing the intent to sell was filed properly, and on time.
The paperwork confirming the sale is what was late.

He said it was anti-capitalism and too much of what the Democrats wanted. He was complaining about W's use of the the wording "excessive profits" and he doesn't like "independent Boards of Directors." Rush has to get a clue.

what is Rush upset about in this speech? Bush: "The lure of heady profits of the late 1990s spawned abuses..." In other words, profits lead to corruptions. Rush argument: Bush should have said, Unethical people lead to financial corruption, not profits. It gives the Demos an issue a way to attack Bush and the GOP.

and he doesn't like "independent Boards of Directors." Rush has to get a clue. Right Rush, boards should beholden to the CEO.... I'm LMAO, at Maha Rushie

Greenfield at large is a pluperfect ass. His TV show dumped
just like that ultra fat ass he sits on daily...a loser/liar
perfect for CNN.
To: Dales
BTW, in case you missed his press conference yesterday, the very FIRST time this Harken deal was brought forward, when Bush entered politics for the first time, he waived his attorney-client privilege so the SEC could get to the bottom of it.

Here is a candid photo of Da$$hole listening to President Bush's speech:

HE DID IT TO ME AGAIN! I CAN'T WIN EVEN WITH THE NY SLIMES, DC COMPOST, LA SLIMES and CNNNBCCBSABCCNBC LYING 24/7 FOR OUR CAUSE!

Proving to me once again that he has lost his understanding of anything political. There are people who scam the Wall Street system. To deny it is foolish and plays into Rat hands.
Perhaps Rush sits on a board or two and doesn't want to give up his seat.

Bush sold on June 30, 1990. He sold shares that had been issued to him valued at 2.50/share. During the SEC investigation George W Bush waived his attorney client privilege so that the SEC could question his attorneys and Harkens attorneys.
The SEC stated that he had no insider knowledge.
Here's the chart of Harkens stock in the relevat time period. Note he sold about midway in a down cycle. Had he held the stock he could have doubled his money. Whoever bought it did. Contrast this with Clinton, McCaulliffe, Mrs Daschle and Mrs Bingaman not to mention Rubin and the dot.com swindlers.

Thanks for sacrificing....watching CNN so the rest of us don't have to. It's time to hold the media accountable for the continuing efforts to destroy our President. I don't know how...but they aren't responsible enough to handle that mighty microphone they wield. The world sees us through their eyes.

Aaron Brown was very unhappy when Lou Dobbs pointed out that most voters blame clinton, not Bush. LOL .. did you hear Brown and how he ended his show
He thanked Lou Dobbs for the cold water

Good point. You are right about the campaign issue stuff. They've been groping for one for a very very long time. They'll probably go with it, but what is the Democrats' undoing is their pathological desire to have someone to hate.
It's amazing, there is a whole list of people who, if you just mention their names, send Democrats into a tizzy. It struck me again when Jesse Jackson mentioned John Ashcroft. Totally unnecessary, but he knew it would get the crowd excited (and bring in the $).
So, the Democrats will try to go after Bush on this and fail, whereas if they were to go after Republicans generally, they might have a modicum of success.
To: Howlin
I'm not sure if it was so much to up the ante, as it was to try to make anything that Bush said look as though it was only done under pressure from the left. Obviously, Bush went much further than Daschle expected and took complete control of the initiative. It made Daschle look like the fumbling obstructionist that he is.

Yes, a corporate fraud swat team under the DOJ has MUCH more potential for actual RESULTS than the "Investors Bill of Rights' proposed by Daschle 45 minutes before GW's speech. This 'bill of rights' rhetoric is getting VERY OLD!!!! Too bad lobbyist's compensation parachutes weren't addressed by GW also. Daschle would REALLY be sweating bullets about now. Global Crossing and Mrs. Daschle have much to answer to re: their actions.

The press keeps saying that the Dems are not going to let this go. That they will harp on this until November. My question to the press is, "the Democrats want to harp on this until the election, why are you guys so willing to be their lap dogs and cover the harping, if not do the harping yourselves?" I know, it's a stupid question. Seems most of the press has decided to just forget about trying to look objective.
