The Today Show, as it went on the air, opened with the video of the police incident in Inglewood, CA, in which officers shove a young black man onto the hood of a car and someone takes a punch at him.
Was this really the most significant story in the world this morning, or was it just The Today Show looking to stir up trouble and sensationalize the news?
There are hundreds of similar incidents every day. Is there any way The Today Show would have led with a report of the allegation if there were no video? Shameful.
Yes, it's natural in a fight to hit back. But for a cop to punch this kid in handcuffs is just plain inexcusable. I have and will continue to defend the actions of the cops in the NYC shooting where the suspect was hit 19 times (out of 41 shots). That guy was totally innocent but acted in a way to put the cops if fear of their lives. But this kid was handcuffed and offering no apparent resistance.
"What is wrong with you? Are you a bunch of liberals or something?"
So only liberals can be outraged at an injustice? I don't think so. Cops are supposed to arrest the perp and courts are to try them. I can understand using ALL necessary force to subdue someone, but I will not condone beating a handcuffed suspect. I know that he only hit him once, but that's only because he was stopped by cops with cooler heads.
So this kid is a criminal huh? Please show your proof of this. According to the reports he has no criminal record.
What is wrong with you? Are you some sort of anarchist who doesn't believe in the rule of law?
