an African American radio discussion (out of DC) where they were discussing black issues re the Republicans. At one point a woman on the panel said that "they picked Condi Rice--not 'cause she was black--but because she was so good at her job."

I see reasons for terror among Dems over this conclusion, which I am certain is not unique to that panel.

Did anyone ask Bush any specfic questions about Harken of the nature I posted yesterday (what did he know, was it good of bad, when did the public know, what caused the stock price to go down in August, why did he sell when he sold?) or was it all just generalized pap, suggesting these folks simply don't do their homework?

Did you see the Brokaw news special some months back when he trailed W around for a day? They showed Ari getting hammered by the press in the press conf., and then Ari watching the PM news, and exulting that they reported the news rather than the junk they slammed him up against the wall over during the press conf. I think that's what happens, generally, in these things. The reporters have to talk and talk and be seen talking, spewing and spitting, and get it out of their poisonous systems, then their editors help them craft their news reports for the evening shows.
