Maybe it would help if the President hadn't mocked the EPA report one day and then sent out Ari Fleischer the next day to tell the press that he beleived that human acitivity contributed to global warming. And to have Fleischer insist to the press that Bush has thought that way since June of 2001. Is it any wonder that people are confused by his wanting it both ways?

What Ari said was that there are uncertainties in the reports as to wheather man is a
significant contributor to Global Warming or if it is mostly nature. That is what Bush said in June 2001 when he rejected Koyoto, and is why he was upset at the EPA report sent to the UN which said that man is a significant contributor to Global Warming. The person that sent the report can't be fired, but somewhere down the line watch for him to resign rather than take reassignment to Ice Station Zebra.
I know this has been pointed out to you before and your continued harping on it makes me wonder.
Is bartflop down again, or are you just trolling?

I'm not really up on the WAIS, or its potential significance to oceanic or global health, but I have noticed this: the "fight global warming" crowd will seize on any potential change to the ecosphere and trumpet it as the coming of Doom, if it will help them promote their agenda.
Extinctions used to be the environmentalists' big gun. Hey, remember the extinction plague? Millions of species vanishing in the course of our lifetimes, with incalculable global devastation to follow? Of course, the tendency is to associate each vanished "species" with something you could visit at a zoo. The real story is different. Yes, species do vanish from the Earth at a rather rapid rate, but:
- there's no evidence that that's happened any faster since the Industrial Revolution;
- there's no evidence that species extinction has outpaced species creation;
- the overwhelming majority of those extinguished species are in the taxonomic band just above protozoa: "plants" and "animals" that consist of a few hundred cells. They have no ecological impact, coming or going.
But it's a change to the ecosphere! And because it's a change, we should oppose it. Or so the eco-logic goes.
Hm. Hysterical opposition to change, without regard for its impact on human liberty or anything else. Just who are the "conservatives" here?

Enviro-whack alert!

There really is global warming. Forty years ago I could work in the hay fields (with an occasional dip in the creek to cool off) all day and feel good. Now with the "global warming" it takes two beers (to cool off) when I use my riding lawnmower to cut the grass.
That's as much proof as the algore crowd has. What can I say?

Don't forget that during Clintoon's admin, one of the biggest supporters of Kyoto was ENRON.
They could sell more natural gas under Kyoto clean air proposals.

One thing is certain and that is politicians will betray us just as soon as they can find the correct semantics to cloud the issue, i,e,; "for the children", etc.. It doesn't matter what label the pol wears.
