Hi, Dave! You know, one of the nice things about doing just one holiday thread to bump all weekend is that we can just drop in and out all weekend ....just laid-back, like family home for a visit - sitting on the porch, sipping lemonade, eating homemade cookies.....that is, if Mama Bear and Louie will stay away from them long enough for the rest of us to sample them.

Hope that everyone had a marvelous day yesterday and it just keeps on being marvelous for the rest of the weekend!

Is it just me, or have the events of the past year revived the spirit of patriotism all across the fruited plain?

I sense more and more people are going back to the basics of what it means to be an American. I have seen references made to the foundational principles that undergird our free republic everywhere...particularly to the fact that our rights come from the Creator, and are therefore unalienable...

It is all very encouraging, and by God's grace, I pray that this new awareness will translate to the voting booth come November.
