they thought this flood was worse than the FLOOD OF 1998. What do you think?

Not sure if it is or not, but guess we will know in the next few days as the damage is tallied up. Our area was spared the worst of it. We've had a lot of rain, but not the intensity of what you had. The 1998 flood was when I truly realized what a kind man W is. I remember seeing him on the news sitting in shelters crying with the flood victims.

I found relativity problems and calculus easier. However, physical chemistry was harder.

I have an aptitude for all of it--NOT!

If the science world had to depend on me, we would know the earth is square, doctors would still be using leeches and and we would think the moon is made of green cheese.

Thank goodness for people like you!

CNN is having a field day with the Harkin story. They just had the evil one, Bob Schrum, on and he said Bush is not going to get away with it this time. They are going to get him, he says. Amazing. This story was out in 1991, 1994 and 2000 - now it's out again. CNN and MSNBC are absolutley giddy and helping the RATS as much as they can. They have GW not only accused but convicted. It is sickening.

Oh - it is? Wow! I think it is less known that Psalm 23, but just as powerful. Glad you know it so well. It has to be a good beginning to every day.

Oh - it's not your birthday? Well, let's pretend it is! :-)

Store all these birthday wishes up so when it is your birthday, you will already be set, ok!

Your letter #108 is great. We need to mount a total refutation effort NOW to the Demoncreeps attempted trashing of this administration re: Corporate America.

HELP! Alamo Girl - hello, long time no ping. Hope you are doing well.

How can we gather the chronicling of the Clinton Corruption of Corporate America!

I see another book for you, Alamo Girl! :-)

This could be a project. A collaborative effort. As if everybody has the time......but maybe it could be done one story at a time. This latest attack by the Dems MUST be countered. They are NOT going to let this drop.

Would you believe we got 5 more inches of rain last night? That makes 20 inches total we have received at our house. Some places have received more. This will turn out to be more devastating than the '98 flood, I'm afraid.

I agree with your comment about Cramer. I have had an email "friendship" with Cramer ever since he started TheStreet.com and I'm convinced he's become more and more centrist. I think you can convert a died-in-the-wool Dem by parking him next to a Red-White-Blue Reagon economist Larry Kudlow, and day by day, watch that Dem (Cramer) become more and more convinced by Kudlow. I fully expect Cramer to vote (R) for George W. Bush in 2004!!!

Sorry for the digresstion, but I have loved Larry for so long, and since he is my favorite living economist, wanted to followup on your statements. I'll go away quietly now.

I think you might be getting me mixed up with my sister that I told you about. I live off Dezavala near Clark High in woods of shavano and my sister whos kitchen was flooded lives in the Jefferson High area. In fact they were having a meeting there last night about this whole situation that area and Woodlawn Lake area were really hit bad. Haven't heard much about the east side of town this time like I did the last time.

Oh and every time it rains heavily the Lockhill-Selma/Wurzbach intersection gets flooded and their are always deaths there. Since 1998 they have redone it and there is a bridge now and it is 100% better. No fatalities there this time thank God. That is not far from me either.

These allegations have been brought against him before and never gained traction. But the conventional media is hurting because of FoxNews, Radio and the Internet ... and this is an election year, so I imagine they'll hit him with everything they've got to hurt all Republican candidates.

More than anything else, the idea of conservative Supreme Court justices has them in a panic. It is the most important issue to me also.

The information against Clinton is very available. We could gather the stories along most any line you wish. The problem is the same it has always been, who will air the story when the work is done?

We've presented the Downside Legacy to the House and the Senate during the Impeachment hearings. We regathered the timelines, polished them up and presented them to the House when the Cox/Dicks committee report came out. We gathered and prepared a highly professional report on Chinagate.

There were positive reactions from some of the elected representatives, but no minds were changed: the moderates and liberals ignored the facts. It was proliferated somewhat on the internet, but the biggest audience was right here on Free Republic. It was mostly ignored on talk radio. And - of course - the conventional media ignored it altogether. I strongly - very strongly - suspect that a lot of the information we gathered was used by journalists, I suspect to shore up the positions they already held.

Where we have had a huge impact is when the information was reduced to an image or a jingle - when our own Free Republic activists were chanting in front of Gore's house, protesting all over the country and spreading the "Sore Loserman" posters.

In a nutshell, I think our best approach is that type of activism. Get our creative people to come up with good soundbite stuff, coordinate highly visible protests - and have all the fact information on hand to give to anyone who will listen and wants to learn more.

Just my two cents.

Thanks, everyone, for your birthday greetings! I had a great day; the family took me to the movies (MIB 2-FUN), then out to eat. I even got a free ice cream sundae and was sung to by the TGI Friday's staff! I didn't want a real cake for my birthday, so we're having a Friendly's Watermelon Roll (Sherbet) today with our cook out!

When I was growing up, we were always at our fishing camp for the 4th of July, so we always celebrated my birthday a day late. Mama did home-made ice cream and Daddy told me the fireworks were for me!! Hey I STILL believe that!!

Happy Independence Day everyone! This year we can REALLY celebrate the things that make our country great. Pray for a safe and uneventful Holiday!

I agree- he is tormented. That is because he has centered his entire life around one goal- becoming President. And then he loses by a hair. So now- feeling the culmination of his whole life was within his grasp, he loses it by like -- oh my god how many votes was it again? 538? Who can stand it? It's like my high school basketball team that lost the state championship on a last second-literally-shot. Except they hadn't based 40+ odd years of their life on that one game.

God has his ways of revenge. When people were talking WHY didn't God let Clinton get thrown out, etc--I knew one thing- that Bill Clinton's ultimate punishment would be being alone and irrelevant, which, because of the way he lived his life, he is. Perfect. Same with algore. God's revenge is the best.

The Harkin story is such old news and has been drug through the media a zillion times. I'm hoping the American people have seen enough of W to know that he is who they think he is - honest and full of integrity. Remember how the people got so upset with the GOP trying to trash Clinton with Whitewater? The same may happen here if the Dems aren't careful.

The media duplicity is another matter all together and I have not idea how to combat it. They care not a worry about a Dem involved in a business scandal but go whole hog with a Republican. It's sickening. Thankfully, MSNBC's viewership is pathetic and CNN's is going down. At least FOX will present both sides.

Hi Rintense and happy 4th!

I am sure that this will be a particularly meaningful Independence Day for many this year. Usually we just hang out at home and are grateful for our blessings. This year will be different.

We are making an effort to go out and celebrate our nation's birthday.

I know I will see many WWII vets today and, for that matter, vets of all wars. Hubby and I plan to spend some time with them, just talking and thanking them for their service. I can think of one vet in particular, who was in the Battle of the Bulge. He won't talk about it, but I thanked him for serving right after 9-11. He began to cry and hugged me so tight, that I thought I would break. These old guys many times feel forgotten by younger people. To me, they are the salt of the earth and are part of why I love America.

If you can, thank a veteran today, you just might get a great hug.

No need to go quietly! I want everyone who cares about money (isn't that everybody?) to switch away from Fox for one hour (LOL!) to watch Kudlow and Cramer on CNBC. They are informed, are really good interviewers, and have great guests from both political and economic realms.
