We have a self-confessed "I was in Vietnam, no I wasn't" named nohorse trashing Bush...
And now we have noescape doing the same thing. The other guy registered June 30th.
Gosh, maybe I'm just paranoid...

Remember Hillary's 900 FBI files? Remember the pardon of the Hassidic Jews who delivered all the votes for her? Remember the false charges against Billy Dale? Remember who illegally rifled through Vince Foster's office the night he died?
Or is your memory a little more selective than that?
To: Poohbah
C'mon, you know anytime these DU fools think they have an edge they start climbing out of the woodwork...why they do it, I don't get it...remember when Enron first hit? Or after the "Bush Knew" crap?

Other than the Harkin deal, which the SEC investigated and is well known in Texas, none of the other information even seems odd.
Where's the beef?
To: All
At least Bush isn't Martha Stewart.
BTW, has AlGore found the meaning of 'is' yet? Last I heard he was still searching.
I did like AlGore personality #87 better than the last personality #88. Maybe some day he will figure out who he is.
But welcome. Didn't read past the first line, so if there was anything useful, maybe someone else will point it out.

A person can change his ways. Clearly George Bush has. Let us see what he does, his actions since beginning his run for Governor of Texas, and perhaps before are of a man who learns from mistakes, and acknowledges them, at least, by no longer engaging in them, or supporting them.
Thanks for the article.

I'm waiting for the part where it said that Bush obstructed justice or otherwise tried to sandbag the SEC probe.

From now on, we will be seeing an orchestrated attempt to erode the President's high poll numbers. This is just part of the DNC's talking points that will be hammered on until the fall elections.

OK. Here is the useful line from the article:
"After the SEC ended its investigation, according to one of its memos, the regulators concluded that Harken and Bush were unaware of the magnitude of the write- downs until at least mid-July, or after Bushs stock sale."

1) Author and poster unclear on the concept of a blind trust; probably unclear on the concept of compound interest, as well, but no way to tell, really.
2) Eaten up with envy, a cardinal sin I must point out.
3) Basic assumption is that anyone who makes money is suspect. The more successful you are, the more evil you must be. In other words, diametrical opposite of Protestant ethic.
Conclusion, nasty piece of work, not fit to shine the President's shoes. Probably a loser, too, as these envious types tend to be.

Securities and Exchange Commission records suggest that Bush, a company director who sat on Harkens audit committee and was a paid consultant to the firm, may nonetheless have been unaware of the sleight-of-hand accounting or, for that matter, other significant company actions Even the author of this would-be hit piece begrudgingly acknowledges an investigation indicated Bush didn't know anything about the "sleight-of-hand" accounting. So where's the beef? Is the best the Dems can do - accusing with innuendo whenever the evidence just isn't there?
