Our local group (Americans For The Constitution) staged a nice little anti-UN demonstration/counter-celebration down at the Veteran's Memorial during the 50th U.N. Anniversery Celebration in downtown Anchorage in January 1996.

We started off with a prayer followed by robust accapella renditions of various new(Vaus) and old patriotic songs, and then Michael New's Grandmother Ruth New (a brave and fascinationg woman in her own right) got up and gave us an insightful talk about Michael, his background and upbringing.

Raised in Texas and homeschooled by Christian parents, he was taught alot of history (World/U.S./Texas) and exposed to family values and solid patriotism by his Grandmother, an active John Birch Society letter-writer of many many years. Her talk was wonderful and inspiring.

Then we sang a few more patriotic songs about our love for America and our way of life, before we ceremoniously BURNED a United Nations Flag. The local TV cameras were rolling throughout, and as we danced around the smoldering blue nylon puddle, I gleefully shouted for all the world to hear, "SO MUCH FOR THE ROCKEFELLER FAMILY FLAG"

An uplifting and spirited time was had by all 50+ attendees ... a much needed respite after so many many, dark dark days of Klintonism, and fear for the very survival of our nation.

Even a few of the liberal mind-numbed Channel 2 & 13 'News At Six' camera folks seemed to 'get it'.

Some day I'll get my techy-self together enough to at least post-up a few photos of the event from my video.

I see a lot of names on this thread of people that chastised that female pilot in Saudi Arabia for refusing to dress up like an Arab ninja woman by wearing a burkha, that are now calling Spc. Michael New a 'patriot'.

Michael New wouldn't wear a blue beret because he said 'if I wanted to become a mercernary, I would have joined the French Foreign Legion'. The female pilot refused to adopt 12th century customs to satisfy a bunch of insane muslim assholes who probably cheered when the WTC was destroyed.

I won't name names, but how do some of you reconcile that conundrum?

Oh, I get it: It's all about who was POTUS at the time.

A Texan ahead of his time? Given the spat between Bush, and the congress against the ICC, I would say he was pretty much ahead of his time.

He should be given an honorable discharge. Bush should fix this.

It cost him a lot to take the stand he did. A lesser person would have simply caved in and gone along with Clinton's World Government scheme. Think about the price Michael New paid when a scumbag, a traitor, and a rapist like Clinton lives high on the hog. New did it to preserve our constitutional ideals and American national sovereignty. Contrast his principled stand with Clinton's self serving political butt covering conduct. Then ask yourself which one America deserves to salute for being faithful to her and to our form of government not a distant and unelected U.N.
