The national weather service in austin san antonio has issued a * Flash flood warning for the following counties. Bexar medina * Until 1145 pm cdt
* At 745 pm. Weather service doppler radar indicated very heavy rain from west bexar county to southeast medina county with rainfall rates of 2 to 4 inches per hour. The heaviest rains for the next one to two hours will be from between yancey and devine to between sea world and castroville. And also near helotes. The slow movement and warm moist inflow will result in the potential for additional heavy rain and flooding.

From where we sit, it's actually stopped swelling, but it's still moving at a pretty good clip. The creek has receded as well and you can start to see what's left of the road poking through. We've also heard that the roads in and out of Bandera are open again. That's the good news.
We can see dark clouds coming again (it finally stopped raining here in Bandera several hours ago) and the radar shows a cell on its way into Bandera county. If we can avoid another night-long rainfall, they may be able to "ferry" some groceries over here tomorrow. But if the waters rise again, it will be too dangerous.
Perhaps you're missing the 110 degrees plus here?
I just talked to my son in Ingram.
He works for the Kerrville Fire Department.
He told me that even though they had been inundated with EMS calls all day, the situation along the Guadalupe River is NOT bad.
He said that he had seen the river much higher than it is now.
Most of the calls they are getting are from older people with heart problems who are panicking about the river washing them away. The tributaries which feed the Guadalupe River at Kerrville have not caught a lot of rain, so the river is NOT out of it's banks.
My sister in San Antonio said the rain is still coming down hard after the nine inches she got last night.
She lives in the Lackland area, so she is not flooded.
Most of San Antonio continues to be in flood conditions with more rain coming.
I'm glad we saw each other again at the Heart of Texas Chapter meeting on Saturday and I will keep my fingers crossed that you and NoNewTaxes have a great time during the remainder of your Texas vacation.
Seriously, prayers for the people in San Antone who are in any danger.
And here (Coachella Valley in California)...our rainfall season runs July 1 thru June 30; we recored a whopping THREE TENTHS of an inch for the entire past 12 months.
