There were some new faces and many of the die hard regulars there this week. Freepers CardCarryingMember.VastRightWC, RMRattlesnake and his family along with fivetoes were in attendance.

My TRT attitude crept in as I did get vocal with the antis across the street. I asked them, rather loudly how osama and the al-qaida gang was doing. The mexican protest bus was absent this week. I think they were off to another part of the country. Perhaps your home town. Check their schedule here mexicopeace.org

CardCarryingMember.VastRightWC once again wins the award for the best signs. He has a an ever increasing variety of signs that are in need of someone to hold. (hint all you have to do is show up).

With the recent court ruling that the Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional we responded by saying the Pledge, not once, but twice. It was a spontaneous recital led by yours truly that sent those little goose bumps up and down your arm. Imagine, if on every major intersection throughout the country random outbreaks of the Pledge of Allegiance happened.

We were, or should I say they were joined by someone from our side. He was a rather large individual that I don?t think they wanted to cross. It was comical watching as he stood right behind them as they held their signs up. He was giving both thumbs down right over their signs.

As always, members of the Fife and Drum Corps played the drums and bagpipes.

It is quite inspirational to hear the car horns honking and seeing the thumbs up of the passers by. Please come out and join us for a wonderful all American hour every Saturday from noon until 1:00 PM. We usually get out of the heat by heading over to the VFW hall afterwards.

Next week, if I have the time I think I will make some signs that say Al-Qaida Support Group and We are Clueless, put them in the side windows of my truck?s topper and park it right next to the anti?s rally point.

There was a cute little clueless young lady, who looked to be around 14 years old, not quite enough to pay taxes, holding a sign that read ?SPEND BILLIONS on EDUCATION INSTEAD OF WAR. I told (shouted at) her that education was not in the Constitution and she gave me one of those ?deer in the headlights looks?. I imagine she probably was thinking something like ?So what, who cares?.

They had another sign that read NO MORE WAR FOR OIL. The irony obviously escaped them when they all got into gas and oil dependent vehicles as they left their corner.

We had two drums and a bagpiper this week. These Fife and Drum folks are the busiest people in the freedom mocement, bar none!

fivetoes, Howdy from the Trteamer! I hope you will be in Johnstown for Independence Day. I have lost touch with almost all of my TRT buddies, What is this Colorado freeper group? I really like carrying a sign so I need to track you folks down. Thanks for the inspiring pictures and report, sorry I missed it.

I hope you will be in Johnstown for Independence Day

I am planning on showing up at least for a little while. Independence Day is one of my favorite days of the year. I have to make it up to City park in Ft. Collins to visit with Marilyn Musgrave.

I finish up the day at Loveland's fireworks. If any Freepers want to join me on Independence Day at Loveland's fire works display feel free. For the past eight years I have been leading a portion of the crowd in saying the Pledge of Allegiance and singing the National Anthem minutes before the fireworks begin. If you want to join in, we gather just North of the fire station at the entrance to North Lake park.

Just look for the wild and crazy guy that is leading the crowd in synchronizing their fireworks cheers. The three cheers are OOH!, AHH, WOW look at that!. It is a lot of fun getting everyone to say the same cheer. I recently had a surprise 50th birthday party and one of the gifts I got was a tee-shirt that reads OFFICIAL LOVELAND INDEPENDENCE DAY CHEERLEADER. I plan on handing out pocket Constitutions also.

What is this Colorado freeper group?

It is part of the Free Republic Network. I maintain a website to try and keep freepers informed of upcoming events. Free Republic, Colorado Chapter. I don't spend as much time on it as I would like, but it is a reference place to find out what is happening.

I really like carrying a sign so I need to track you folks down. Thanks for the inspiring pictures and report, sorry I missed it.

Saturday, Noon, Fort Collins, Corner of Mulberry and College. I'll be there, yes folks, the Pierce chapter of the TRT is coming to Fort Collins. I'll have to dig through all my signs left over from the Moronic Mom's rallies or make a few new ones. I can always bring my flag. Catch you in Johnstown, I'll be giving out information on the toxic waste cover-up at CSU's West Campus. That's a whole new can of worms.

While we are all celebrating the birth of our nation please take a few minutes to read the document that is the basis for our celebration. Then ask yourself if the words still ring true today. Then ask yourself what will it take to preserve these precious freedoms.

The Declaration clearly states the reason for government. "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men,"

There are many things that I do not like about government and I speak out against these things. However, defending our self-evident truths and our unalienable rights IS the purpose of government.

Our way of life is threatened and and under attack. Our troops are on the lines. They are doing their best to root out the terrorists and destroy their network. There is a quote by George Orwell that is quite appropriate: -- "People sleep peacefully in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf."

Many of us are old, crippled and too weak to fight a war as we once were able to. The least we can do is support our troops as they do battle on our behalf. If you can make it out on Saturday's in Ft. Collins, great. If your excuse is that it is too far to drive then get together with a group of your friends, solicit help from your local VFW post and pick busy intersection in your home town, claim it and show up every week. You will make new friends and our troops will know that they have our support.
