Columbia, Missouri group FReeps the peaceniks weekly! (pictures included)

I wanted to share with you an email that I got from one of the members of a group of dedicated, patriotic FReepers from Columbia, Missouri who gather each and every week to counter-protest the peaceniks in their area. Here is what the email says:
"We in Missouri support your efforts in Fresno. Here are a few photos of our June 29th counter-protest in Columbia. Please use them as a solidarity message from us to you.
The peaceniks here love their trite messages, so we had prepared a few signs in anticipation. One draw-back is that they insist on having "dialogue" with us, and then think that we care if they agree with our signs or not. It makes for some frustrating encounters with the nitwit crew.
You will notice that these folks are old enough to know better. Many of our college students are not supportive of them, but their professors are! I guess that back in the 60's they must have dropped out, tuned out, turned on, and now there is no turning them off.
Somewhere along the line the protesters decided that we must stay within their rules for protesting. Rule #1 is not to counter-protest them. Now, how does one counter a protest if there is not a protest to counter? Rule #2, our signs have to be nice, or pass their approval. NOT! Rule #3 seems to be that we have to like them and appreciate their dedication to peace at any price.
Well, we don't. We appreciate those who have and are serving in our military, and we believe Americans must stick together to combat evil regimes.
So, Thank You Jim Rob, Fresno, FReepers, and Service People. We stand with America!
-Love,
BlueSageWoman"

These people look old enough to remember WWI and WWII.
Maybe they have alzheimers.

i spent the first 23 years of my life in columbia, missouri, and for much of that time it was actually a decent place. no more. it is now a bastion of political correctness. interestingly, the crime rate has risen -- and i'm talking murder, armed robbery, rape -- corresponding to the decree of "pacifism" there. you you're right -- the peaceniks there are in large measure the same old losers who were doing the same old thing 30 years ago. fortunately, the farms that surround columbia have entire horses. dep

Fantastic! I especially like the self-defense poster. Can't help but wonder if that person is a SASTER.
Keep up the good work!

Way to go BlueSageWoman et al.!
Been to Columbia a couple of times for biochemistry meetings about 10 years ago.
Nice town...but for the usual contingent of wacko professors and wayward students
you find at every major university.
But I got to admit the Union building on campus is very impressive, as well as the
old stone columns from the early days.
Keep the faith...hope the "Salute To Veterans" airshow on Memorial Day was a hit...
I got to see it some years back. Very nice event, patriotic and a feast for the
WWII warbird enthusiasts like myself.
Cheers from West Los Angeles (formerly of Oklahoma)

I've heard some of the owners of those horse farms include some of the Walton family.
You're right...nice town, but sliding a bit far to the left these days.
IIRC, it was that county was a little blue island in MO during the Nov. 2000 election,
except for the other blue spots of KC and St. Louis.

Thanks for posting these threads. Way to go, Missouri Freepers! Wherever these misguided, mistaken, antiwar peaceniks go, Freepers are there! Good job.

Way to go! The left wants everyone else to play by their rules...but they're exempt. Hah! We'll ed-u-cate 'em yet. Thank you both for your efforts. (^:

Keep up the good work. I wonder if the pro-terrorists would approve your sign saying 'Beware ---- Traitors ahead.!'
Our local wierdos cannot understand why I consider them either pro-terrorists or traitors.
Must be what they have been smoking or injecting for the last 30+ years!
Keep up the good work; you make us proud.
How far is Columbia from wherever you are? Your profile does not say St. Louis :^)

Especially when they find they've haven't fulfilled their wish of:
"hope I die before I get old"
(OK, sane WHO fans knew that was just a boast of youth, not a death wish...)
