Australian newspaper, possibly British journalist (???).

From some of the statements, you are probably correct. However, the Australians seem to have a fair dose of Anti-American sentiment. I spend a lot of time in Thailand and have learned to avoid European andAustrailian travelers. They say< , "Oh, are you American?" when you say yes, you are frequently subjected to a spew like this article until you rudly excuse yourself (rather than punching them as you really wish).

That's strange and unfortunate coming from a country whose people might now be speaking Japanese if not for Americans. Nothing could have stopped the Japanese from invading Australia during WWII, and the Aussies at that time were grateful to MacArthur. Times change.

I believe most of the people of the world have a very poor grasp of history. And from what I've been reading of Oz news articles, leftism seems to have badly infected that country as well as ours. Not enough Gerry Jacksons of The New Australian down under apparently.
