Gore Vows More Spontaneous Campaign

Gore Promises More Spontaneous, Less Restrained Campaign if He Runs for President in 2004

MEMPHIS, Tenn. June 29 — Al Gore told top Democratic fund-raisers Saturday that the party's 2000 campaign had too many consultants and that if he runs for president again he will speak from the heart and "let it rip."

The former vice president attended a weekend retreat with about 60 fund-raisers and Democratic Party activists from across the country.

Reporters were barred from the meetings, but aides and others said Gore promised a different kind of campaign than the Democrats ran in 2000, when he lost to George W. Bush.

Gore said that campaign had "too much strategy, too many consultants giving too much advice," said Chris Korge, a party fund-raiser from Miami.

"If he were to do this again ... he would not be so guarded. He would let it rip and let the chips fall where they may," Korge quoted Gore as saying.

Strategy sessions for this year's November elections were the main focus of the retreat.

In brief comments in a hotel hallway, Gore said he was "extremely encouraged by the level of enthusiasm ... that we're going to have a successful 2002 election."

He said that that encouragement also applied to his possible second run for the presidency.

"Well, sure, but I'm not addressing that decision this weekend and probably won't until after the first of the year," he said.

Gore said he "would spend more time speaking from the heart" on "the basic challenges of the country."

"We're at a time when very basic decisions have to be made about the direction of our country, and I don't think the American people want to see small tactical moves in one direction or another" by political candidates, he said.

Since the 2000 election, the former Tennessee congressman and senator has spent a lot of time in his home state, where he and wife Tipper recently bought a $2.3 million home in Belle Meade, an affluent community bordering Nashville.

Gore said he plans to campaign heavily in Tennessee for the state's Democratic candidates for U.S. Senate and governor.

Tipper's idea of a "nooner" is a lunch buffet.

Well, if he lets it "rip", I wouldn't exactly call that "speaking from the heart". I'd be more incline to call it "talking through his a**". But then again, how is that different from the last campaign?

LOL Quote of the day!

"I wish he'd kiss my ass the way he kissed Tipper."

That's a revolting thought. But Gore has kissed plenty of other butts so your request has some merit.

LOL!

Poor al baby.

Gosh darn it, daddy was a senator, ol al was a senator and a VP (even if he did serve under a rapist and a betrayer of our national security) so....what the heck....if there is to be a gore dynasty, he HAS to run again. He simply has to do this!

Poor baby-he is stupid, flunked divinity school, dropped out of law school (probably to avoid flunking out) and found he could DO NOTHING but run for political office on daddy's shoe strings. Now he is out there in no where'sville and it just ain't FUN!

Problem is-he is dumber than a door nail and most know this. I genuinely don't think he has figured out what he really wants to be when he grows up. IN fact, I don't think he even knows who he is, yet.

Al showed his stuff when he joined with the ultimate trash-the clintons. His amibition overruled his common sense ( if indeed, he HAS any) and the poor guy just doesn't get it still. And tipper, as our first lady, oh GAG me with a marijuana joint. I don't think those two have recovered, yet, from their days of blowing weed. They epitimize shallowness.

When my teen heard the news tonight that al gore said if he should run again he was going to speak from the heart (already he is studying President Bush just like he studied and tried to copy Ronald Reagan - even including his hair and overt mannerisms-oh GAG ME) and that he was going to 'let it rip'.....and the comment in our house was "better don the gas masks!!!" hehe

I can see Gore singing and "bopping" to "Let's Get Physical" with the special lyrics:

"I'm Spon - ta - ne - ous, ta - ne - ous..."

I apologize to anyone I have disturbed with this imagery.

So now we have another reinvented alpha male . Did we not all see the original albacore the last time ? Not to mention his sterling previous attempts to achieve his holy grail .

I see the Tip has emerged again .. 2.3 million $ home in the very state Albacore failed to carry . I would swear I heard some paltry comment today from the Tip .

Something about having to much money . Profit is a good thing , 'ya just need some ethics in you ; and a legal controlling authority helps .

This time Gore will have a few problems to deal with.

Like his time in office doing nothing to stop terrorist And the deaths of 3000 Americans. We will not forget.

The real problem for Al is he never understood why BC really chose him or VP. Gore thought it was for the ideas. Not. Clinton knew that Algore would say anything and do anything to acquire and maintain power. His actions during campaigns and while in office underscore this.

The only thing fat ol' All Bore will 'let it rip' is the shinny skanky bottom of his old baggy cloth suit, caused by his fat a$$ but who's looking?

I can't wait to see Lady Tupper again, regularly and hear the stories of how All Bore and X42 did such a 'bang up' (gedit??) job during the eight years walk through the dark forest and renting out the White House.
