This week in Houston, TX, The Latin American Group (LULAC) had their national convention. Among the types of things they support, amnesty for nine million people currently in this country illegally, affirmative action, and bi-lingual education. Fortunately, there are some people living in Houston who are against such nonsense.
The group "Texans for Immigration Reform" organized a press conference at the LULAC convention site. A group of fifteen concerned conservative citizens, including eight members of the H.A.T. FR Chapter, joined in flag waving, sign carrying, marching around the building, and making statements to the press.
Cameramen from the Houston ABC (Channel 13) and FOX (Channel 26) filmed coverage and took statements for members of both organizations. A third cameraman (I presume a free-lancer) did the same. Several people stopped to ask questions and give support. It must be noted that a few people of opposing view showed their displeasure, but the number of those responses were less than the shows of support. Police presence at the scene showed support and of course, no incidents reported between Freepers and police.
Thanks for the H.A.T. FR members who attended and/or contributed to the Freep. The list is shown below. Another good example of what can be done when FR and other conservative groups work together. If I missed anyone, please respond to the thread.

Eaker
Also add issues all sucker-mom types can relate to - like schools overcrowded by children of illegals.
This is what the Council of Conservative Citizens is doing here in North Carolina. It's getting a lot more attention than prior protests about job displacement.
Otherwise I will say it was a great FReep - if you weren't. . . ya should have been there!
Xena intimidates the media...
Flyer gets the shot...
I broke the bank, so to speak... guess I may consider paying someone for bandwidth...
