President Bush announced today that he will undergo a colonoscopy tomorrow at Camp David, a routine checkup after doctors found benign polyps a few years ago. The procedure will mark the first time there has been a transfer of power to the Vice President while a President has been sedated for a medical procedure. When asked how he feels, the President said that he felt fine and was looking forward to an afternoon of exercise, after the procedure is done. Earlier in the day, Bush attended a fundraiser for Rep. Connie Morella, R-Md. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Hello! I was able to see VP Cheney today in Raleigh at a fundraiser (I was a guest of someone)....and he looked and sounded good and certainly READY to take the reins of the Presidency for a short time! He could not say enough good things about President Bush or Elizabeth Dole.
(And I met her face to face. She is the thinnest woman canddiate for any office I have ever seen!!! And she is a very nice person who is great friends with Sen. Helms.
Anyway - thanks for the dose, Rintense, tonight as always. And to my friend who enabled me to attend today....THANK YOU!!!

Great first shot, and great quote, rintense! Thanks!!
I posted on the Pray for Bush thread that, though this is considered a "routine procedure," when it's happening to you, no procedure is "routine."
I'm praying for the President, and for Laura too. I'm sure this is harder on her than it is on him! (Well, emotionally, that is!)

Hey All! I'm here early. I'm in Bellevue, WA attending the GOP state convention. The banquet is tonight. I'm also connected with an ethernet and it is soooooo fast. Oh, how I wish had this at home. It is bliss.
Poor W...I missed his little announcement but sounds like he handled it with his usual flair and sense of humor. Watching the press cover this is hilarious. What a bunch of morons.

From some of the comments on the other thread, it sure doesn't sound like a lot of fun for HIM!! LOL! Is Laura even there? She's been gone all week. Someone posted that she is in Midland. Hope she meets up with him at Camp David.
I'm nervous about it too so prayers shall be offered for our dear president.

I am so pissed at Al Gore. I cannot believe the balls of that guy to insinuate that the corruption and scandals in the corporate world have anything to do with W. HELLLOOOOOO! Gee, Al just who was VP during all this time of greed and deception. For me it all goes back to Clinton. For 8 years, he and his supporters said character doesn't matter....wellllllll...if it doesn't matter in the president, then why a CEO? Aaaarggghhhh! Gore makes me so sick.
There, end of rant.

OH WOW! What a great opportunity for you, FWI!!
I would love to hear the VP speak! Talk about a competent stand-in! I don't think the country has anything to worry about while the President is 'sedated' tomorrow!

That's a relief.
Don't even wanna contemplate a long Dick presidency.
