Well we know a sure fix to a lot of this fiscal waste would be to disband various money spigots of the federal government like the Dept of Ed.
Unfortunately, W doesn't agree.
Admittedly, it'd be an uphill battle to eliminate these org.'s, but raising their budgets is no place to start.

Regardless of that, the recent SCOTUS ruling on school vouchers was a decisive triumph for liberty & conservatism.
President Bush does deserve a chance to fill any vacancies that might occur on the court in the next several years. And before 2008, he may have an opportunity at three seats.
Let's hope & pray he opts for relatively young conservatives, in the Scalia tradition.
