I stand corrected. I've benn outta there for 10 years.

Smart move, I've been outta there for twelve years, spending subsequent years all over da place, including NYC. Will never return to LI, although my childhood was largely positive there.

I'm still here on Long Island. My husband is a policeman, and when we were newlyweds, we lived literally around the corner from the Sea Crest Diner. We ate there often and had the opportunity to speak with the owner many times. He was a nice man, and still felt great sadness for what happened in his restaurant all those years ago.

We moved from that neighborhood six years ago, so I don't know if he still owns the diner, but I know he always liked seeing my husband and me come in, 'cause he knew at least SOMEONE would be armed.

One day, when hubby can retire (only 7 years to go!), we will get the hell out of here. Long Island has gone Dem, and you can't tell the RINOs from the Dems anymore anyway. Too bad, because Long Island used to be a nice place to live.
