I'm only 28, so this doesn't apply^:)

Quick! Retire now!

Look at that GRAPH... it is a linear regression... if you retire RIGHT NOW you will live to be 138 years old!!!!

Yes and then someone expanded Gauss to three dimensions and then four etc and voila we have multiple regression. One explannatory variable is ok sometimes. This time it is probably not.

Want to bet that income and wealth are negatively related to retirement age but positively related to life expectancy. I would bet it is true and that is what this graph is likely leaving out. Thus the real story is more likely something like rich people retire early, have more wealth, better medical services, have worked in less physically taxing jobs and thus live longer.

Chortling!!! I got the same answer!

Every 20-something retire RIGHT NOW and live another 90 years. Don't worry, the OTHER people will pay for your existence!

lol Good point!

I was once in an insurance sales meeting where the manager stated that 98% of the people who buy term insurance never collect. When he asked if we knew what that meant, I volunteered, "Buy term and live forever?"

He wasn't amused.
