Hillary Pledges Allegiance to 'the America That Can Be'

The two judges on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals who ruled yesterday that the Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional aren't the only folks who have a problem with the Pledge's wording.

Apparently, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton would also like to revise the words that every schoolchild learns to recite in kindergarten.

While the 9th Circuit objected to the phrase "one nation under God," Sen. Clinton reportedly prefers a version of the Pledge that acknowledges America's flaws, one that begins with the words: "I pledge allegiance to the America that can be."

News of Hillary's Pledge preference surfaced last November, when MSNBC "Hardball" host Chris Matthews was explaining why he thought she would make a White House bid:

"Hillary is dying for it," Matthews said during an interview with NBC's Tim Russert. "But she's also miserable right now because of all this patriotic stuff going on. She can't stand it. I remember Hillary. ... She once said, 'I pledge allegiance to the America that can be.'

"What are we, on probation?" Matthews protested. "I mean, when is she - when is she going to lighten up about this country and say 'This is a great place,' instead of her constant complaining?"

Matthews continued:

"This is too much Barbra Streisand complaining about the country. I'm sorry. I'll say it. [Hillary has] got to love this place. And you know who'll win the next presidency, if it's a Democrat, it'll be a Hubert Humphrey-style Democrat who loves this country, who's happy, who's optimistic about the country. If it's another begrudger, another fearmonger, then Democrats don't deserve to win."

Not even sadistic, camel raping, femnazi backing, effette mass murderers on crack deserve Hildebeast and XXX42 as their representative/co-representative. (Yes, yes.. it should be senator.. but that's be an insult to senators everywhere.)

of course, this is the state that brought 14 years of Emperor Cuomo upon itself. May God have mercy on this poor brain damaged state...... and put us out of their misery.

Agreed.
As another Freeper posted, "The only time I want to see hillary's name is with the words 'died suddenly' following it.

This looks like NewsMax creating a headline where none exists.

Agreed. NewsMax is not what you'd call your most trusted news source.

"Pledge that acknowledges America's flaws"

Too bad the former first lady doesn't spend more time fixing her own flaws and those of her wayward husband, instead of trying to fix things about America which don't need fixing!!

Is Hillary the one in the back? The one standing inbetween 2 girls? The one with the tie on? Thought so.

Q.: When is Hillary going to lighten up about this country?

A.:When Old Glory is replaced by her favorite flag.

Well, of course, she is entirely consistent since the pledge was written by an extreme and avowed Socialist.

"Hillary Clinton is doing for her constituents what Leona Helmsley did for hotel workers."

Oh yeah...the Queen of Mean, I remember her! I'm not exactly sure what you mean about the hotel workers, but I'll take it as a positive development for Dragon Lady Clinton, i.e., the NY electorate is wising up.

Miss Leona was infamous for treating her hotel workers like pond scum. I'm sure that the UnDivine Mrs C cares just as much for her constiuency.

OMG! You know, you could've put up a warning notice before posting that pic. Now that I've seen it, I want one for the next FReep at Whitehaven and Mass Ave.

K and B, check out #48 above. Warning: do so on an empty stomach.
