Did the mom's interview carry any weight with you? Did it make you think to yourself..well hey, the VD's aren't the only one's with problems here? I gotta lot of things to do today...shopping etc. Will see ya when I get back.
The mom sounded pretty pathetic to me. A bitter old lady who didn't have much of a bond with any of her children, then or now (kicked them all out when they were 18). She sounded like she was willing to claim her 10 minutes of fame, though.
DW strikes me as a decent man for the most part. I know that you, and others, have a different opinion, but that's mine. What he has accomplished good in his life, he appears to have done on his own. I doubt he was counting on his mother to be a rock of support during this nightmare. And she appears to have lived down to his expectations.
