He doesn't even seem to be an atheist. From the way he phrases his arguments, he comes off as a guy who at least believes in some sort of God, but is massively angry at said deity for reasons we'll probably never know. So instead he calls himself an "atheist" because being a mere "deist" carries even less philosophical weight.
Ahhh, don't waste your time. I'm sure there are thousands upon thousands of people jamming his phone lines and writing him hate mail already, to say nothing of the fact that he's being vilified by the President of the United States, every member of both houses of Congress (well, maybe not Cynthia McKinney), and is having his name raked over the coals every 15 minutes on the cable news channels. He's already suffering at cheney levels (aka Big Time), you can be assured of that.
But the worst thing of all for him is, his little plan has backfired. He has just guaranteed that those words "under God" will finally be made absolutely, unquestionably legal to be uttered in public schools under US law. If the Supreme Court does not overturn the ruling, a Constitutional amendment to gurantee the right to say the Pledge is virtually guaranteed.
