"This is another clear sign that the Communist, Marxist, Socialist or whatever name you give them are now in position to take over america with out firing a shot as stated by Krushev back in the sixties when he said, we will inflitrate your churches, schools, media and courts."
They have already done this. What are the Republicans doing? ROFL their *stategy* consists of attempting to beat the Democrats by caving in on multiple fronts and attempting to look politically correct, multicultural, sensitive (AIDS to Africa/Amnesty)and pretty.

"One nation under God" keeps the Pledge of Allegiance from establishing a state religion, ala the Soviet Union. Recognition of God is not a religion. Atheism is not a religion. No religion is threatened by including "under God." All are threatened when a nation allows itself to be Supreme.
If you pledge to a godless nation you pledge to a nation that has usurped God's place in your heart.
The Ninth Circuit Court is WRONG.

We need to learn how to play the spoiler game too... we need more Ralph Naders! Anything to siphon away 5 to 10 percent of what would normally be a Democrat vote.

To our modern-day Paul Reveres: Please ride forth with this word.
And to Jim:
In 1973 it was Roe v. Wade - shouldn't that have woken us up?
In 2000 it was Civil Unions in VT - shouldn't that have woken us up?
In 2002 it was 'Campaign Finance Reform' - shouldn't that have woken us up?
It's the same old problem that has plagued selfish, lazy man since the dawn of time...it's always Somebody Else's Problem.
I am very thankful that you have never thought so. You give me a glimmer of hope in an ever-darkening time.

I'm not an atheist but if I was instructed to say something I didn't believe at all I wouldn't be happy about it.
I just don't like people telling me how I should pray and I especially don't like jackass politicians trying to coerce me into something. As far as I'm concerned they can go straight to hell!!

You see it is *insensitive* to atheists, Hindus, Buddhists or whoever to include that phrase so that is why it is ruled *unconstitutional* in our wonderful diverse politically correct multicultural society.

You're being invited. Not instructed, any more than putting a creche on the courthouse lawn is instructing people to believe in it. I hope that distinction is not wasted on you.

Jackasses will, in all probability, go to hell. Take heed.

Interesting paragraph.
"With equal pleasure I have as often taken notice that Providence has been pleased to give this one connected country to one united people--a people descended from the same ancestors, speaking the same language, professing the same religion, attached to the same principles of government, very similar in their manners and customs, and who, by their joint counsels, arms, and efforts, fighting side by side throughout a long and bloody war, have nobly established general liberty and independence." - John Jay, Federalist Paper #2.
To: Jerr
This will be overturned
There is a problem with the ruling being overturned: The Republicans in Congress and here on FreeRepublic will celebrate mightily; they will declare a victory over the forces of atheism; they will congratulate themselves on the success of their mass mailing to Congress, etc., etc.
Meanwhile, the Liberals and Marxists will remain silent, and simply target another point in American Culture and Tradition. They know that the assault on the Pledge will be revisited another day by another generation of activists. Their Long March will continue.

Exactly. We need to find a way "to siphon away 5 to 10 percent of what would normally be a Democrat vote," instead of willfully siphoning away 5 to 10 percent of what would normally be a Republican vote.

Here is an interesting thought. In the last election the Mexican vote was something around 3-5% of the total I believe mostly in states like California and Texas, neither of which will be up for grabs in the next election. How about instead of throwing away amnesty on some delusional ethnic pandering scheme in the process alienating staunch conservatives what about appealing to working class socially conservative voters in battleground states. That is just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Naw there are alot of harmless jackasses. They won't make the trip. The ones pushing an agenda down your throat however....Take heed indeed.
To: nunya bidness
Katie Couric is on the beat this morning! The martist/liberalist's are on the defensive today....
To: Pythagoras
How many Mexicans are there in places like Iowa, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Michigan?
To: Greg Weston
Just because you don't like something doesn't make it unconstitutional. If that were the case, I would have filed suit to have the Oakland Raiders declared unconstitutional years ago.

Back when I was in school I don't remember it as an "invitation". Maybe it's different now.
