To our modern-day Paul Reveres: Please ride forth with this word.

And to Jim:
In 1973 it was Roe v. Wade - shouldn't that have woken us up?
In 2000 it was Civil Unions in VT - shouldn't that have woken us up?
In 2002 it was 'Campaign Finance Reform' - shouldn't that have woken us up?

It's the same old problem that has plagued selfish, lazy man since the dawn of time...it's always Somebody Else's Problem.

I am very thankful that you have never thought so. You give me a glimmer of hope in an ever-darkening time.

My lovely wife has succinctly hit the nail on the head. As you replied to one FReeper "It is never too late.". Quite right. However it is far too late to change things in the courts or in the legislature and I'm sure you know it in your heart. I'm sure that most FReepers know in their hearts that there is only one way to turn things around now. And only one place, the streets. I read your recent thread on posting guidelines so I won't take it any further. I hope I haven't already crossed the line you drew. It's your house, your rules. I try to play by them.

But you've called it out on this thread. Whether you see it or not, with your own words you've drawn the line in the sand. I'm ready. Not eager, but ready. Let slip the... OK, OK! I won't say it. But you know as well as I do the course is set and who/what is at the helm. And I don't mean Dubya. An act of Congress won't do it. That's just shuffling chairs on the deck of the Titanic.

It's the last thing I ever hope to see in my life, in my country. But if I become a slave it won't be my life. And it soon won't be my country.

After CFR how could it be?
