W needs to turn this vote instantly to his advantage by IMMEDIATELY calling on the Senate to pass his judicial nominations and restore balance to the bench.

The one missing, would have made the vote unanomous. The recovering from heart surgery, Senator Helms isn't up to working yet. Consider the vote 100%.

And the House members are out on the steps of the Capitol reciting the Pledge now.....HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!
Hillary was in the President's chair in the Senate when this all was coming down. She was among the first of the stampede to vote for the resolution to have the Senate counsel file amicus curae brief if this gets to the Supremes.
The rumor is that this was just a three man panel on the Ninth Circuit and the decision will be reviewed by the full nine panel circuit court and it will be tossed and never get to the Supremes.

This ruling will cause Americans now to despise our judicial system more than they every have before. After today, most Americans will be guilty of contempt of court -
with patriotic pride. The law has now indeed become an ass.

LOL!!!!!!!!!

What does the resolution actually say?

Is the nine member panel less looney?

I believe the Senate GROWS tall grass now-a-days, so it takes less time to run for it.
These kinds of days are evidence as to why Americans are hesitant to "promote" Senators to the presidency. They lack the tools to produce testosterone, if you know what I mean.

The RATS are already blaming this on Bush I and Nixon appointees!! Watch them run with the ball on this!

Good one. Hell (if I can say that) If they said we are no longer 'one nation', that would be easier to understand.

The nine panel members are supposedly not this looney, or so says a Senator whose son is clerking for one of them.

(PhiKapMom...just a little note as you take active interested in our elected bodies)
Not a suprise.
I heard Michael Medved interviewing a prominent atheist advocate today. He told Medved that
he's friends with a number of elected representatives who are atheist (or sympathetic
to atheism).
When Medved asked him to name some of these folks, the advocate refused to do so...
he said these politicians knew that if they were open and honest about their sentiments...
they knew they'd probably not be able to hold onto their jobs (sinecures).
So, if you hear someone say there is a covert conspiracy by atheists to
sieze power in the USA...don't dismiss it out of hand.
(This is no different than a relative who railed for years about Communists in the
government. We shook our heads at our "crazy" old aunt...until we saw the PBS NOVA
"Secrets, Lies And Atomic Spies" episode a few months ago that said that over 300
Soviet agents in the US government had been identified on the basis of very limited information.
I about had a heart attack when the show said that it's virtually a lock that Alger Hiss
WAS a Soviet operative.)

"I expect a Rose Bird-type recall push has started already." Unfortunately, Federal judges ca't be recalled (they can be impeached). Rose Bird was a California judge.

Bush 1's appointment was the DISSENTING vote in the 2-1 decision. Nixon appointee and Carter appointee are the idiots that voted in the affirmative.

Right, the senate dems are appalled and all aghast at the court's mis-ruling. The demoncrat senate is just covering its big fat ugly ass, trying to tamp down any resulting flak because of its deliberate inaction on judicial appointees. Not that most of the media -- liberal leftist looney media, that is -- would ever bring it up or cast even the slighest insinuation of any aspersion on anyone other than their normal targets: the GOP or us Conservatives...

An extraordinary old textbook you might enjoy is
A History of the South, by Francis Butler Simkins and Charles Pierce Roland
Fourth Edition,
Alfred A. Knopf 1947, 1953, 1963, 1972
I don't believe there were further editions after '72. This was once THE major history text on the subject. I got my copy on eBay.

Clinton got 14, I think Carter got three on there. If my numbers and math are right The Rats are responsible for somewhere around 70% of the total. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Senate condemns Pledge ruling by 99-0 marginThe Senate gets it right. Thank GOD!

Is this what the Democrats means when they say they are making ideology an issue for appointing Federal judges? If so, then why did the Senate pass a resolution condemning this ruling by 99-0?
Hypocrisy?
