Bush Criticizes 9th Circuit Court Decision
Sean Hannity radio show ^ | 6/26/02 | Pyro7480

I just heard on Sean Hannity's show that Bush has criticized the decision earlier this afternoon by the 9th Circuit Court in San Francisco that the Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional, due to the phrase "under God."

Let's see if Bush has the hutspa, cahones, and guts when he comes back from Canada to demand a Constitional Amendment to end this nonsense...preferably to a joint session of Congress during prime time television. Time to end this once and for all, and time to start taking our country back.

I don't think God has much of a high opinion of America today, even with the phrase "under God" in the pledge. The key question is, what does America think of God?

See my post #59.

Radicals of many stripes, whether atheist, homosexual, environmental, socialist, et al, and any combination of the above are slowly tearing the fabric of our society apart. Through this process of social erosion, this nation has strayed far from it's original, moral roots. It is indeed a "war" of a sort, fought slowly, incrementally, stealthily, and, if not countered, the primary casuality will be America and all that makes our nation great.

Study history, particularly the fall of the Roman empire and it's decadent collapse into empire, eventually to fade from existence entirely. The parallels between that era and our present day are unmistakable, and omninous.

I don't agree. If my comments constitute "babbling" to you, you need to grow a skin.

[W]hat if there is no [G]od?

Then the oath has a minor technical error... of course, it can readily be argued that America is no longer a "republic" (run more as a democracy or an oligarchy), "indivisible" (see the basic fundamental philosophical differences between the Left half and the Right half of America), or has "Liberty and Justice for all" (thanks to affirmative action laws, income tax strata, "group rights", entitlements, etc.). Shall we delete these phrases as well?

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the country for which it stands, one nation."
Kinda lacks zing, donchya think? ;^)

Back to your original question, "what if there is no [G]od?", I always clunk back against the concept of Origin... something started that Big Bang (or however the Universe began), and I choose to call Him (Her/It) "God"...

although I guess it could have been some mid-level arch-angel doing a really cool Heaven Science Fair project. j/k ;^)

One thing you can be certain of: Tom Daschle and Dick Gephardt probably filled their pants when they heard of this decision. They are probably putting out a contract on the judge. We talk about the right being short-sighted during an election year. Conservatives have at times shot themselves in the foot near an election, but I've never seen the right do anything this stupid in an election year. This is the stupidest thing I've seen done in an election year since Gary Hart had his lap warmed.

No, this is even stupider than that.

The judge is a moron and an ever present danger to our liberty, freedom and justice. Impeachment proceedings should begin immediately.

that is odd.....the huge majority during Talk Back Live were opposing it. The CNN poll showed a huge majority, almost bigger than Bush'a approval ratings, opposing the decision.

Give me a cite for one radical atheist killing someone becuse of atheism.

You can start with Lenin executing Orthodox priests (enemies of the state, don't cha know). The Chi Coms weren't too enthused with religion either - they like to keep Christians (and about anyone else who accepts a higher power) in jail cells flooded of water. Castro isn't too hot on religion either. Aren't atheists wonderful people when they get into control?
