See.. No one is denying Dubya Kudos when he does Conservative stuff.

But, rather.. allot of people simply can't stomach the idea of calling anything their leader does good and proper no matter if it is or it is not.

That's what the Clintonites did in the Rose Garden. That's not endorcing their leaders convictions.. It's just idol worship.

We're better than that..

Jeff Sessions from AL is doing a great job! Religion is part of the founding of this Country. Life is a complex thing -- we work together and live together in harmony, and if someone doesn't like the Declaration of Independence, or Constitution they don't have to read it and if they don't like the Pledge of Allegiance then don't say it. Says there is a trend in America by the courts to eliminate any reference to a higher being. The 9th Circuit is the worst 27 out 29 cases were reversed. The Majority of the Supreme Court considers the 9th Circuit to be a Rogue Circuit.

Most outspoken critic of the 9th Circuit. Will encourage Pres Bush to send nominess to that circuit which will bring it back into the mainstream. Some others on the 9th Circuit will join in this opinion.

Cherish our freedom of Religion. Go back to the grassroots of Faith in America.

You folks of Alabama should be very proud of Jeff Sessions!

Maybe a series of "purge trials" are in order. That worked too.

I hope you're not accusing me personally of rubberstamping everything Bush does; if so, you must be missing some of my posts.

An unalienable right cannot be taken away by government.

Freedom of religion CAN be taken away by government. Therefore it is NOT an unalienable right.

Define why and why not, and distinguish please between the source of Creator-endowed rights and the others you imagine.

You mean like in 1954 when the "under God" phrase was incorporated into the original pledge? When Communist witch-hunts were in full swing? Think that was a coincidence? Hmmm...

This is something I have on myown website
http://bard.lunarpages.com/Pol itics/Pledge.htm
Red Skelton may have been ahead of his time....

I - - Me; an individual; a committee of one.

Pledge - - Dedicate all of my worldly goods to give without self-pity.

Allegiance - - My love and my devotion.

To the Flag - - Our standard; Old Glory ; a symbol of courage; wherever she waves there is respect, because your loyalty has given her a dignity that shouts, Freedom is everybody's job.

United - - That means that we have all come together.

States - - Individual communities that have united into forty-eight great states. Forty-eight individual communities with pride and dignity and purpose. All divided with imaginary boundaries, yet united to a common purpose, and that is love for country.

And to the Republic - - Republic--a sovereign state in which power is invested in representatives chosen by the people to govern. And government is the people; and it's from the people to the leaders, not from the leaders to the people.

For which it stands

One Nation - - One Nation--meaning, so blessed by God.

Indivisible - - Incapable of being divided.

With Liberty - - Which is Freedom; the right of power to live one's own life, without threats, fear, or some sort of retaliation.

And Justice - - The principle, or qualities, of dealing fairly with others.

For All - - For All--that means, boys and girls, it's as much your country as it is mine.

And now, boys and girls, let me hear you recite the Pledge of Allegiance:

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic, for which it stands; one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Since I was a small boy, two states have been added to our country, and two words have been added to the Pledge of Allegiance: Under God. Wouldn't it be a pity if someone said that is a prayer, and that it would be eliminated from schools, too?

-Red Skelton

Red Skeltons' show was on in the 60's and ended around 1970. It seems that he could foresee some of the troubles coming today. In the guise of Political Correctness, some schools are today trying to do away with the pledge, some for the exact reason of it being too close to a prayer

Well......since these morons on the 9th circuit were sworn into office by taking an oath on the "Bible", I guess that renders their seats vacant and having been illegaly
sworn into office, it renders the decision null and void!

BTW, I don't consider this a "conservative" issue; I consider it an AMERICAN issue.

Neo,

Thanks for your excellent post.

As I read through the post here I am just amazed at the level of hysteria that abound in them. One would think that the court had ruled that all Christians should be thrown out of their homes and into the street. But then again I have learned from my time here on FR that Christians seem to really like to see themselves as being persecuted, and so I guess any excuse will do.

If I understand this ruling correctly, and I believe I do, the main point of contention here is the phrase "Under God". So if that is removed from the pledge any school in the district will be able to use it in their daily routine. I think it should also be noted that this decision is only binding on the locals which are under the jurisdiction of the court, not the whole country as it seem many of the posters here think.

I have always failed to understand why Christians think that the rest of the world is out to get them? What is it that they do not grasp about people not wanting their Christian belief system shoved down their throat? Much the same as the colonist did not what British taxes shoved down theirs.

Curious character quirk indeed.

Your number 934

Excellent idea.

Anyone who can't see that pledging allegiance to one's country must necessarily involve an acknowledgement of the Jew-Christian God's supremacy is obviously a commie bedwetter and most likely a terrorist.
