It does not support a separation of church and stateON the contrary, it does--just not the one tweaked with in the Lemon case.

There is a better argument. There are no words "Separation of Church and State" in the Constitution!

We've got to change the national Anthem too or at least cut verse four out. (Not that they ever sing it anyway)

"WHOSE FATHER HAS DECIDED THAT SHE IS AN ATHEIST"
Where does the daughter's freedoms come in here??? Is this a case for child abuse??? :o

"Instead of a call, (I"m supposing his phone line will be busy or his answer service will just fill up), does anybody have an email address. That way, anybody and everybody can make their opinion known. "
I'd love to see an email address for this jerk. You're right about the phones - I've been trying but the line is busy, busy, busy!

I guess Eisenhower was a constitutional idiot who had no clue what the founding fathers intended. Me thinks FDR is rolling over in his grave about now.

Singer Charlie Daniels is off the Fox News show now. But he clearly supports government endorsement of religion in public schools.

I propose that all patriotic Americans should consider going to a certain circuit court in San Francisco and recite the Pledge of Allegiance continuously.

I Pledge Allegiance To the Flag. FV
The ninth circuit in San Fran is un-American. judge goodman wrote the opinion and Fox News showed his phone number for a split second. We need that phone number. UBL is grinning somewhere.
One upset atheist with a 7 year old girl vs. The Western States, not just San Francisco. What about freedom of speech and freedom of religion? That little girl is going to be really messed up when she grows up if daddy fixes everything that upsets her in a free society.

There's a ray of hope after all.

For the love of God, the Constitution is next. This is an open door for every damn liberal psycho out there.

Amish Dude says:
The only people being allowed their freedom of religion under this ruling are atheists. But they are only entitled to freedom of religion if atheism is a religion. In which case, we are making atheism the established religion of the US. And we run around in circles that way. And, as another poster noted, those whose religion is non-theistic.
Great point!!
Of course, our society suffers from a very extreme case of what T. S. Eliot labeled a "new provincialism," the provinciality of time, imprisoning us in our own little present moment of time, without any clue or understanding of the great and enduring ideas understood by America's Founders when they encapsulated the ideas of liberty in that document of our freedom called The Declaration of Independence.
Without its basic idea--that, as Jefferson so eloquently put it, "the God who gave us life gave us liberty at the same time,"--there might not have been a U. S. Constitution to protect our lives, our rights, and our liberty, and one which "liberal" judges of today can claim to defend.
That a Creator is the source of life, rights, liberty and the laws to protect rights and liberty just doesn't seem to enter the thinking of the average "educated" products of our institutions today. And that's sad! And it indicates a lack of study of the history of previous civilizations, their decline, and the amazing consequences of the Founders' discovery that God gives life and liberty to individuals, and that they, in turn, delegate certain powers to those they elect to positions of power in government.
Doesn't that line of reasoning just naturally make government under God?

Like those who don't want governments telling them what their children must pledge alliegience to.Balogna, noboby is forced to recite the pledge, nobody is required to remain in America and nobody is forced to pray.
Public schools are the essence of the public square, were supported by Jefferson and Madison and are not subject to tyranny by a minority.
You're cause and the cause of the leftist minority will take a big kick in the ass today. Remember all those Christians who stayed home last election? Well guess what, they won't be staying home in November.
To: Howlin
That's right Howlin. Charlie Daniels just made a great point on FOX. He said now there MUST be vouchers so parents can send their children to whichever kind of school they want. If this guy wants to raise his kid as an athiest, let him send his kid to an athiest school and leave the rest of us alone.
We need to start gathering people who will willingly stand outside the 9th Circut courthouse 24/7 and recite the pledge. When they get to the part "under God" it should be shouted at the top of their lungs.

It's embarrassing that this man's telephone was given out in the first place, let alone that it has been repeated. Unfortunately, it just goes to show what type of people make up Fox News and those that repeat or call this man's number. They certainly aren't journalists and they certainly don't have integrity. This is the type of thing that leads to some nut and bible thumper going out and shooting this judge in "the name of God."
He is a judge. He is above public opinion and his decision is one that is not subject to review by the public. Majority does NOT rule in this country, and nor does it even matter. Making unpopular decisions is how progress is made. Our country is filled with unpopular judical decisions that advanced us as a nation--whether this is one of them, only time will tell.
I hope this guy's number is unlisted so Fox News can get sued.
