Rush is saying (hoping, I'm sure) that this may be a key to getting back the Senate this fall.

I don't know if it will take us that far, but it will be hysterical to watch the liberal congress members squirm if asked if they support this ruling. Especially with them knowing the current sentiment of the nation post 9/11. With crosses at ground zero, and prayer services let them tell them public that they support this ban on the use of "under God".

And....students should not be allowed to spend or carry any form of currency in school because "In God we Trust" is on it.

Why does a witness have to place thier hand on the bible and repeat "I promise to tell the whole truth, so help me God!"

A witness doesn't have to do it. A witness can choose to simply affirm under penalty of perjury to tell the truth without any religious texts involved.

Besides, anyone who believed the words of the Bible would refuse to swear an oath on the Bible anyway.

If the arrogant 9th Circus Court can tell us just exactly WHAT religion God belongs to, then perhaps I might listen to them.

I swear, the 9th CC missed their bran muffins this morning.

I think they declared all of our money to be illegal too. After all, it still says "in God we trust". I guess we are all broke now...

I am almost certain that we can pin this on Liberal Democrats, But will we have the courage?

I'm guessing that this is going to be THE most talked about item for several days. If the crap storm from this doesn't get the little socialists to back down, or if our RINO's can't make any political "hay" from this, we might as well quite now.

Or Jewish!!! We believe in G-d too!!! Hell, even the Muslims believe in someone they *think* is G-d. This ruling seems to benefit only the atheists...

This needs to be analyzed very carefully, because it's a very good point. The only people being allowed their freedom of religion under this ruling are atheists. But they are only entitled to freedom of religion if atheism is a religion. In which case, we are making atheism the established religion of the US. And we run around in circles that way.

The pledge is socialist bs anyway.

Yeah? So when have cultural conservatives ever been against socialism???? They object to certain flavors of socialism, but not to socialism that fits their cultural agenda.

It's found in a series of letters, I believe, between "Founding Fathers" of the USA. From those letters, it was used as a basis for past legislation.

Some argue that religous beliefs are a major cause of war and turmoil. On the global stage, many opinion leaders have been forced to re-examine how much fundamentalist from various religions play a role in social conflicts. Some argue that America, as well as the world, needs to mend fences by adopting a belief-system that translates across all established religions. Only then can world peace be achieved, the theory goes.

You'll find that they do not, if they ask not to. They may simply affirm that they will tell the truth under penalty of perjury.

I disagree with the court ruling, extracting God from the public forum is nowhere near the actual text or the original intent of the first amendment.

The pledge however is socialist in origin - see my post about the author - Francis Bellamy.
