Every time an insane attack on freedom (like this) happens, I go out front and take down my American Flag and replace it with my "Don't Tread on Me" flag. I will be back in a minute.

Haven't read all the posts, but let's hope these commie judges who have lost all contact with reality, don't look carefully at the money in their pockets. The ones who use US currency instead of rubles, have money that says, "In God We Trust."
If Bush doesn't jump all over this to support his claim that the commies in the Senate are blocking his efforts to get the kind of judges that America NEEDS, he will be missing a great opportunity.

To me it's not so much a problem of religion and state, but education and state. Just another reason why the state cannot educate our children.

For those who are shocked about the socialist originsNo, no, no, you've got your talking points mixed up. Its "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" that your looney-tune camp believes is socialist.

Required? The problem is that then the citizenship of an atheist can be called into question because they obviously wouldn't subscribe to the notion of this nation being "under god".

"This is good. We need to find everyone and every group which supported the plaintiff. Go behind the front. Reserach their history. Flush them all out." This is good. I support damned near anything that helps bring on the demise of our private corporate foundation's mass psychology/indoctrination experiment known as forced government schooling.

These are the "mainstream" judges that Leaky and Herr Schumer demand that Bush nominate.Deserves repeating with emphasis!
To: Hacksaw
The 9th Circuit is the worst of the worst in the federal court system; fortunately, its opinions apply only to California and other kook lands on the Pacific Coast. It is full of Carter/Clinton appointees, a fact that speaks volumes for itself. If Mr. Patrick Leahy has his way, the Ninth Circuit (and all of our courts) will have nothing but this type of judicial "thinking" and "thinkers".

I find it sickening Me too. I had to recite it (before I moved to Australia - then I had to learn: "God Save the Queen") -- My Dad when he was a kid, tells the story that he would recite the "Plunge of Allegiss" ... with one nation "for richer sands.." ... until he really learnt the words...
Just heard that an atheist brought about this law suit ... I simply don't understand how 1 person in the direct minority can dictate to the majority.

Yeh, I am really sure that schools across the county who have students recite this are really goping to stop just because of a court decision from a federal court in Texas.

Isn't the ruling moot since the government isn't supposed to be in the education "business" in the first place. Or is this one of those lesser of two evils thing that people are so fond of voting for despite voting for evil begets evil.

You can thank them for letting Rastafarians smoke dope on federal land and government mandated sidewalk cuts for the handicapped.

This ruling will likely mean merely a small change to the pledge so that it doesn't affect or infringe on the rights of non-believers. The ruling affirms the idea that government can't place a manger scene in a courthouse lawn, and it shouldn't be able to force its citizens to pledge to a religious belief.

PUSH FOR BUSH JUDICIAL NOMINEES We need to set aside any differences and join together to ensure a Republican sweep in November!
We must have conservative judges appointed to the bench!!!
To: Triple
"The pledge is socialist bs anyway. Hopefully this will be the end of it.
For those who are shocked about the socialist origins, look it up for yourself. Use google - it will take you ten minutes, tops."
Would you like to back up any of your arguments with proof?
Or should we just swallow this propaganda like good liberals?
And you would not consider this court ruling socialist?
