J.C. Hernandez (Texans for Immigration Reform) is calling a press conference outside the Westin Galleria Hotel  - Site of The LULAC National Convention

5:30 PM on Friday, June 28, 2002

Mr. Hernandez wants FReepers to give them some added moral support. They're contacting ALL conservative activists in Houston and this should be BIG. THIS IS NETWORKING AT ITS FINEST! If you can attend, that would help several other Houston groups who are pushing for tighter immigration laws and more security on our borders.

The press conference is at 5:30 - we should try to arrive at 5:00. I believe there is a park / field across the street from the Westin where we can meet. I will do a drive-by on that tomorrow and post exact locations.

Xena is our queen, be sure to check her out. I'm not sure what you mean when you say you look like a freak. If you are refering to hair, you should see our boy bobbyd. Last time I looked, his hair is in a ponytail, and it goes to the middle of his back.

Heh, now I feel downright normal. Just one ear piercing (I'm male), hair that goes down to the middle of my back (usually pulled back -- needs a serious trim to get rid of the split ends), I shave regularly and I have no tattoos.

I heard (many) people in that group pretty much dislike non-whites, particularly Latinos and blacks, and that is more their motivation rather than just necessarily their opposition to federal immigration laws being broken. Could that possibly be true?

I get conflicting pictures about the CCC group. I'm not sure where they stand for example on controlled legal immigration.
