Not a wartime setting, but Jimmy Stewart in "Strategic Air Command" always rates as a must watch for me. Love those B-36's.

I remember my first flight in a Buff. I hummed the music from "Strategic Air Command"!

Now that you mention J. Stewart, did you see him in "Shenandoah"? This took place in the Civil War time; and it had some similarity with "The Patriot" in some places. Particularly Stewart's character, and Gibson's in "The Patriot". Even my sister noticed it when we were watching "The Patriot".

I had seen "The Patriot" before she did; and I had told her that it had some similarities, to "Shenandoah" in some places, then she saw "The Patriot". She leaned over, as we were watching it, and said she agreed with me; it was reminiscent to "Shenandoah". Particularly with the similarity of the families during wartimes, in the story, and the two 'father' characters.
