What is the worst war movie you have ever seen? Your reasons can be political, realism, historical innaccuracy, or a mixture but what is the worst?

No, no, no! I have the worst war movie ever made:
"Anzacs", with Paul Hogan
I can't even tell you exactly what it was about, because it was so bad. It was so freakin' bad, we pretended we were watching Mystery Science Theater 3000.

That's not a movie -- that's a film.You are one perceptive chick! LOL!

Oh- that is right. Fonda plays the sleuth whilest the command slept! It is a poor movie but surely not the worst. I have one- how about the "Guns of Navarone"!

I don't remember the name, but I once saw this movie where Martin "The Clymer" Sheen was a boomer commander. He had a beard and was honest-to-goodness chain-smoking cigars on the sub's bridge. heh heh

I'd also like to add 'any RAMBO movie'.

Temujin: I feel this Tartar woman is for me, and my blood says, take her! There are moments for wisdom and moments when I listen to my blood; my blood says, take this Tartar woman!

The low point of John Wayne's career. Maybe not....seen "Brannigan"?
To: Jagdgewehr
Nope- I love that movie! It was never meant to be a serious war movie but a libertarian critique on WWII. I am not a libertarian but I love it that movie.

Hmm, I hated the English Patient. Does that count? That's not a movie -- that's a film.
You're both wrong. That's "cinema".

Ohhhh, I'm getting confused here. WHich one had harrison ford in it and the goal was to blow up a dam so that the water would flow downstream and take out a bridge? Was that "a bridge too far?
WHat was "the guns of navarone force ten"?
WHich one had Lee Marvin in it?

Other than the very obviously fake beard on General Longstreet, as well as Martin Sheen making General Lee look like an escapee from the psycho ward,
Gettysburg is actually a good movie, believe it or not. It's a good adaptation of
The Killer Angels. The soundtrack is also excellent.
The Longest Day is also a good movie, I think. The English, French, German and American segments were respectively directed by English, French, German and American directors. Actually, the German segments were the best. I liked Pluskat and his dog.

Oh, he made one worse than that. You speak, sir, of The Conqueror, one of the finest pieces of historical recreation since...uhh...since...uhhhhh...since...oh, God it was bad...
Susan Hayward is brought into his presence struggling and The Duke intones "da wench has a fahry spirit..." or somesuch. Fu Manchu mustache. You hadda be there...
To: Burkeman1
I think the movie you are refering to as "The Walking Dead"
Yeah that movie spewed serious chunks, I perfered Dead Presidents. But the movie that really stunk, was the Terrence Mallick version of the "The Thin Red Line" all that voice overs. That thing droned on. Another one that totally tanked was U-571, a real stinker, and I like submarine movies.

Oh- that is right. Fonda plays the sleuth whilest the command slept! It is a poor movie but surely not the worst. I have one- how about the "Guns of Navarone"! "Guns Of Navarone" (the original) had some interesting moments. "Battle Of The Bulge" was just flat out ridiculous. They even had a scene where they shut off the engines of a scout plane so the Boston detective could hear the sound of the panzers in the fog and forest below.
