That truth being their equipment cannot handle a large influx at this time and they are working on the programming enhancements, etc.
Further, there was an effort for members to nominate those who could add to the debate process...to weed out the 'eschoirs' of the world...so that when people came to visit the site, they wouldn't be swamped with junk comments, pics of the beautiful crowd, yada yada, but find a place where issues of liberty, freedom, governance are discussed--and yet there is a place for the occasional humor. Regional issues are discussed as well as national and international.
It wouldn't leave enough room for all the anti-Freepers.
Awwwwk! Censorship! Censorship! Haven't you people ever heard of the first amendment? We have a right to post whatever we wish on your site! I don't like the rules. Sounds like a country club for the intellectually elite. more patriotic than thou crowd. You must be afraid of dissenting opinion. Squaaaak! Somebody hold me back before I post on there again!!

Im not sure what bogus innuendo youre referring to or what truth you seem to think Im suppressing. I simply said:
I was responding to the E Mails statement that Among the reasons for this back channel of communication are to help folks like [name omitted]: a)find new and other forums on the Internet where their fine writing can be effective (like LibertyForum.org and LibertyPost),, which would seem to imply that its open to all, in contrast to FRs censorship. Its not.
I admit my interest in posting there has waned. Intentional or not, Id suggest that their method of admitting beta testers "by invitation" has imposed a defacto if not intentional censorship of the viewpoints expressed.
It is not at this time, as the letter states, a free speech alternative for anyone other than invitees. Whether deliberate or simply a function of banned freepers congregating with ex Sam Fancis posters, this creates a continuity of thought.
This may be for good technical reasons, and may change when membership is opened, but it doesnt change the fact that it is not the realm of free speech that Im sure youll make it in the future.
You left out a couple of other issues.
More like their equipment can't handle anything not out of Mein Kampf, the Protocols or the Quoran. The site is a fever swamp, and believe me I've seen a few of them. Currently, they're giving Polinco a good run for their money and day by day getting more like a cross between the most unsavoury Islamic Jihad sites and Stormfront.
As for claiming that LF doesn't "stifle" anything, here's a couple of facts to chew on:
LF has (or used to, anyway) a "grading" system. Mob rule, which would allow the mob to render your posts invisible on normal read settings. Of course, that seemed to happen a lot to posts not seemingly hatched by some blood-drunk madrassa headmaster.
A while ago I was approached by some denizen of that forum who told me I shouldn't mention LibertyForum. Seemed it was semi-secret and they didn't like being talked about. You know, like roaches and light :). So not only do they carefully select their clientel (and I've seen what hysterical recriminations that were directed at someone who had invited a poster that didn't toe the party "kill the jooos" line), but they try to keep in the shadows too.
