The following email is being circulated to our members by various disgruntled former FReepers:
Subject: The Future of Our Free RepublicDear Fellow Free Republic Member,
Many of us at Free Republic are distressed by the extraordinary level of censorship that has been so obviously going on. It is very obvious that individual posts, entire threads, and the entire work of members who have been highly regarded are disappearing into a Memory Hole.
Scores of us have organized an e-mail network that is independent of the communication controls presently, and sadly, being used at our Free Republic. We have carefully documented the unmistakeable evidence that most of the posts, threads, and posters that are vaporized completely are overwhelmingly targeted for their political stance on the Right. These are not Leftwingers. These are not even Middle-of-the-Roaders. These are not disruptors. These are not foul-mouthed delinquents. These are fellow patriots on the Right who disagree with the controllers of FR on specific issues that are now hotly debated by the Right. We have documented that FR will parade before you, as if to hide all of the great posters whose work has been destroyed, a straw-man delinquent that has been banned. This is deceptive.
Treating these fellow patriots on the Right so shabbily is not right. As shabbily as those banned into the Memory Hole are being treated, the most shabbily treated of all are all of the good folks on Free Republic themselves. We came here for honest debate. Free Republic advertised itself as a Forum for honest debate. Without that honest debate...everything at Free Republic becomes shabby.
We can do much better. As a measure of how intense the simmering feelings have gotten among members on this unjustifiable use of deleting, censoring, and banning please link to the following thread. You will notice that one simple and sincere plea from one of our finest members has spontaneously touched off a prairie fire of approximately 500 posts in a mere 18 hours. If it isn't Memory Holed this thread may shoot into the thousands.
If you would like to receive anonymous updates of information concerning the hundreds of Freepers who have networked via e-mail to restore the wonderful honest debate to Free Republic, just drop an e-mail of just one or two words if you like for extreme brevity to:

I was talking about the Muslims who have attacked or conspired to attack us here. That is probably less than 100 as I said. The numbers in Afgan don't count since that includes Taliban who were defending their regime.
Suddenly, I started recieving out the wahzoo from everything from re-financing my home to xxx rated sites. Some of them even thanked me for signing up.
I'm sorry, I have never visited any of the places they claim I had. I guess you could call it crazy on my part, but at my age I have seen my share of naked women andcould care less about seeing that sort of thing 24 hours a day...on a computer, fer gawds sake!

And, if not for the actual votes, at least for control of the committees. Then judges might get out of the Judiciary Committee and other administration aims might escape their confinements within those committees as well.

Your statement gets to the core of this apparent dispute. The internet can be a free forum if market controles are allowed to prevail. A person doesn't like FR, that person should not donate again. If enough people stop donating, FR will cease to exist. However, whar seems to be happening here defies the free market by copying terror tactics. I awoke this AM to a full Email box. Thus, I got my "punishment" for reading and/or posting here. someone else's problem with this forum is restricting my ability to use the forum. I wish, instead of restraining "free trade" here. the "dissatisfied" would go off and form their own group -- which they have done -- and leave this forum the hell alone -- which they have not done.
I use my Email for other purposes than recieving spam, thank you.

What paranoid fanasies. Raimondo's name has been dragged through the mud here for writing on the Israeli spy ring here in the United States prior to Sept 11. Well, Barbara Walters ran with the story last week. It's in the mainstream media. Raimondo is owed an apology. And my brother didn't deserve to get booted off the forum for posting an article praising Free Republic because Raimondo just happened to write it.
Since when has the lameheaded media been a determining influence for a conservative? Just because Walters is several months behind the ball doesn't make a sentence of Raimondo's bash Israel reporting true. Indeed, I have followed this stupid story from its inception and it is a vapid piece of nonsense. Raimondo deserves no apology for his patently obvious exploitation of disparate facts for the single purpose of attacking Israel.
