Meeting you a while back, I loved the parallels in our paths, but most of all your beautiful spirit.

Jack knows, then, how many were aboard Parris Island then!
It was a sobering place for duty, daily hearing planes take off from the then nearby airfield, winging to the West Coast to take men to board ships headed for Korea.
You know, it doesn't seem so long ago, does it?

Yes, Jack got in under the heighth minimum because of the need. He's about 5'4". He was 17 yrs old and weighed in at about 110 lbs. Just a little punk from a dirty little river town in Ohio. They made a man out of him and sent him to Korea as cannon fodder. But he was tough,, and survived. The idiot re-enlisted. One of these days I'll send Bunny all the material on him so she can do a tribute to him as a surprise from me. I haven't had time to pull the stuff together. Anyway, we are of the same generation and share so many experiences. You are still so cute. What happened to me?
