Bush Continues Clinton Agenda

Referring to President G. W. Bush's new Homeland Security department, former President Bill Clinton told a gathering of Council on Foreign Relations members last week, "We have been building this for a long time." For once, Clinton told the truth. What he began constructing following the Oklahoma City bombing, Bush has succeeded in bringing to fruition. America is about to have its very own Gestapo.

If Al Gore were president today, Republicans in Congress would no doubt rise in righteous indignation to quickly kill such a plan. However, with a fellow Republican in the White House, all such opposition has vanished. The bottom line is Bush is pursuing Clinton's agenda and getting a free pass.

Consider this: Bush has already issued 57 executive orders and has already created 47 new federal agencies. His Justice Department has declared that U.S. citizens, whom it declares to be 'Enemy Combatants,' have no constitutional rights - none. Such people do not even have the fundamental right of legal representation.

Georgetown University law professor David Cole rightly said, "This is really an astounding assertion of authority. It's not just that you have no right to a lawyer, it's that you have no right to even have a hearing. If this is true, then there is really no limit to the President's power to label U.S. citizens as bad people and then have them held in military custody indefinitely."

Furthermore, Bush now says he has the right to initiate first strike attacks on any nation or people at [his] will. Imagine how future history will record America launching its own versions of Pearl Harbor.

Bill Clinton received more good news from the Bush White House. Just yesterday, he learned that Attorney General John Ashcroft is ready to permanently close the government's investigations into Clinton's criminal activities. In other words, President Bush has declared that Bill and Hillary Clinton are above the law.

Beyond that, Bush's support for liberal policies on things such as the federalization of airport security, proposed amnesty for illegal aliens, a boost in funding for Clinton's AmeriCorps program, a worst-ever education bill, and a constitutionally-challenged campaign finance reform bill simply reveal Bush's perpetual propensity to continue Clinton-style government.

In spite of Bush's dismal record, he continues to receive the support and approbation of conservatives, pastors, and Republicans throughout the country. If Clinton would have known that a Bush administration would be this successful in promoting his policies and programs, he would have supported Bush and not Gore in the 2000 election. Maybe he did.

So, you'd leave America (S&G) for MEXICO (the land of godliness and purity)????

I love Costa Rica, but you obviously aren't thinking straight.

Bush may not be forming his own Gestapo, but the power to do so is now in place. That's the same thing, without a good man in the WH the country is screwed. Our country should not depend on the goodness of men, but on the surety of the law. That is something Republicans used to stand for, and fight about.

I saw it the last few times it was posted. It wasn't any truer then.

I'm surprised you'd buy something so obviously dishonest.

PS: If God is looking around for a land of evil to destroy, I really don't think Mexico is all that safe...but that's just me.

I think my time to leave this country is drawing near, not by my choice.

You're saying God is going to rain fire and brimstone on the US but spare Mexico and Costa Rica?

Response to reply #20:

The articles and posts I made starting in 2000 quoted Bush's own public statements to news organizations about wanting to jointly develop star wars missile defense sytems with the Russians and to share operations with them as well.

Honestly, I am not a prophet. I have had no divine revelation.

However, I was offered a postion in 1983 to work on star wars missile defense at Kirtland AFB which I declined because I was told at that time I would be expected to work with Russians on the project-this I objected to then and still do today.

Because of this experience I watch very carefully and thoroughly for statements made by political leaders on missile defense. Bush senior also made a statement in his speech to the nation on September 27, 1991 about his desire to share US missile defense witht the Russians. My fellow Republicans did not believe me even when I showed them the full text of Bush's speech which I requested from the WHite House.

I have been correct not because I am a prophet but because I have been a faithful and truthful witness to what I have seen, heard and read. I give all credit to God and His Son Jesus Christ who have preserved me and who put me in situations where I would see, hear and read about what I have written. But I am not alone in this regard. Others like Paul Ross and Notra Trulock and Uncle Bill have observed and heard and read about similar things and they too have written about them.

I read the Bible and study what God has had written about His plans for Israel and Jerusalem. I believe what God has had written in His Word, the Bible. Some things in the Bible are hard for me to understand, but much of what God has said in the Bible about Israel and Jerusalem and the future ME situation is very clear to me and many others.

The Great Shepherd knows His sheep and they know their Shepherd's voice. They will recognize Him and know to go with Him when He calls out, "Come Up Hither" as He meets them in the air. They will reside in the mansions the Shepherd has prepared for them.

God Bless You Fred Mertz. You see what some others do not yet see.

"God Bless You Fred Mertz. You see what some others do not yet see."

Time is short in my understanding of Phophecy. The very visible indicators of the truth of it are offered for all to see, but for very Human reasons they choose not to.

I have no real problem with being sneered at and derided by any who choose to avoid reading the Bible. I feel sad for them. But we've all been given Free Will, and it's their choice, so let God's Plan be done.

"This was MY idea all along. I just didn't have a national disaster so I could be a good president, too!"

I personally believe that clinton was setting this in motion for years, and, yes, regrets that he didn't have his Big Event with which to prove himself.

Some people say that Y2K was much ado over nothing. Could it be that those who sounded the alarms actually prevented something from happening because enough people were prepared for either some sort of electronic catstrophe or a governmental event under the guise of an electronis catastrophe? Why else was Reno put in charge of interior security? Will we ever know? Probably not.

I do not have the superior education that many older Freepers have but I am able to see the obvious. Consequently, I have been bummed out for quite a few years now. Many of my friends think I am a bearer of bad news when I show them how America has declined morally, ethically and intellectually. They prefer to overlook these glaring facts because it is so depressing, especially since we have no idea what to do to raise these standards to previous levels. Myself, I believe immigration has much to do with this. Being politically correct and not wanting to offend aliens has allowed their cultures to lower ours.

I made friends with a man 25 years my senior when I was about 19. He was the one who taught me to keep my eyes open. This lead to a life of continual distrust of our politicians. Yes, the Democrats are vocally socialist, but I never expected to see the Republicans supporting their plans. Now, I'm 56 and unfortunately fully understand what he spoke of.

Eisenhower kicked the Mexican migrants out. Bush is promoting amnesty, why? The few Republicans who vocally resisted these illegals are now out of Congress.

Sovereignty doesn't seem to be an issue in this White House, nor has it been for thirty years. Bush#1 nor Reagan promoted an America free of illegals. Why?

Why have we been so friendly with our enemies in sharing our high technological defense techniques. Let the Russians and Chinese steal the secrets as in the past. We don't need to just give them away!

We have foreign troops using American military bases in America, why?

Our troops are the worlds peacekeepers detailed when and where by the UN! We are the ones who pay for these costs. Why?

How did Clinton get a Go Free pass from the people we voted for when we were screaming to get him out of the White House.

Personally, I seriously believe that blackmail is what is being used to keep the current bunch of longtime Senators and congressmen in line. Perhaps they drank too much at a barbecue amongst and were photograph peeing in the bushes or kissing a lady who they weren't married to. Or their children made a slip up and they dread having that come out on the 6 o'clock news. Or they took some money that they weren't supposed to during a race for re-election.

We don't require people in office for thirty , 35 or 40 years. Look at the age range in Congress and the Senate. Look at the third and fourth term members.I don't think it is the love of America that keeps these people in office. Love of power would be more like it.

The collusion that we see amongst large corporations buying special contracts from the congressional committees is dismaying but continues each year to become a larger problem. Watching people retire from government and go to top level jobs in these corporations that they were supposed to controlling is not a confidence builder.

Trust in government is at it's lowest level ever. I don't wonder why. I know why. If you expect me to believe that the Republican Party is the Savior of America then you are going to need to explain why they have sat back and allowed America to decay without strong protests. Why have they allowed the mass media to become the voice of the Left. Why have they supported the socialist UN programs? When was the last time you heard a member of Congress say we need to get out of the UN? There are so few strong minded republicans in Congress and the Senate today that they stand out like a wart on a babies behind. Why aren't these people supported more strongly by Freepers?

I don't see Freepers joining VetsCor in large numbers even though JimRob is a member of the board and gave space on FR.com to promote it. If VetsCor can't get more than 15 members from FR.com, the largest conservative forum on the internet, something is dreadfully wrong. Snow Bunny has had the "Canteen" up and working since 9/11 or just shortly afterwards. It gets roughly 600 to 1500 posts everyday, but VetsCor sits with almost no membership.

America has gone below a level of respect that would shock the Founders and make them wonder why they bothered to even write the Declaration of Independence or the Bill of Rights. Our Constitution is not obeyed in the Legislature, the Courts or the White House. Are we expected to believe that the officials in our government truly care about America. Yes, we are, but I'm just not one who follows that line because that line has been degrading America since before I was born.

Baldwin needs to cut George the 2nd some slack. After all, George is the archtypical conservative. A God fearing man who swore on the Bible to "uphold and defend the Constitution".

Think what a herculean task it must be for George to not only swallow his conservative pride but to violate a sacred oath and thereby place his soul in jeopardy as he enacts the radical left's agenda.

He makes this sacrifice for us......so we can proudly say "our guy" won the next election by being "pragmatic".

If he wants to obey the Constitution......WHO ELSE in this country could command that every television station in America carry his live speech asking every American citizen send letters of support to their Congressman, Senator, Governor, Mayor, City Councilman, local judges, Sheriffs, Police Chiefs that immediately we will verify every existing law on the books anywhere in America for Constitutional obediance. The laws, regulations, etc. will be reviewed and if it doesn't meet the Constitutional standards set forth by the Founders, it shall be removed.

Every Treaty will undergo the same review and either remain or be shredded. This will start immediately and not stop until every regulation put out by a municipality, County, State or federal office has passed the test.

Am I qualified to set up the test? Hell NO! But I do know quite a few people that I would recommend for the job.

This would result in NATO, the UN, half or more of the federal agencies being dismantled.

The IRS would be a goner, so would the Federal Reserve System, the BLM, the USFS, drivers licenses would be shredded.

Guess what? The power would return to the people. Control would once again emit from your Governors offices. Don't sit back and hope for this to happen anytime soon. There is a strong organization of agencies that would find this against their better, selfish, greedy, power hungry interests.

They would resist such a move by the people as if a revolution had started with aims to burn DC to the ground. In effect all it would be doing would be containing DC inside the District of Columbia, getting them out of our cars, homes , wallets, businesses, etc.

So, as I said, don't look to the people in office to support such a review. If this doesn't start from the small communities and build so rapidly that it can't be stopped, it will never happen.

President Bush is the only person in America with the authority to get something like this started and I don't see him doing it. It is probably so far away from his line of thinking that it would be a nightmare to him.
