Mini_Teacup tried to get FOX at her locale to run the story but they weren't sure if they could take it.

She has registered with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. I'll check to see if the notice is up on the site yet.

I don't know if LE is hot on his trail, so I can't say whether or not the family should immediately push for media coverage. I'd say if LE are not able to track down the suspect within a finite period of time, national coverage might just enable someone to determine his location.

Does the abductor have caller ID on his cell? Is it possible he doesn't know the police are trying to contact him...

And how long ago was the 'check in' call to tell the family that the child is all right, and did someone relay how serious the situation was then?

My husband had a mental breakdown last month after being caught having an affair. Began speaking as a child twice and had no recollection, then 32 hrs lost blank time woke up lost and found his way home and was shaking back and forth. Last time he took a loaded 9mm and nothing for the baby, he did this again. SInce I felt he was getting treatment and we were in marriage counseling I had no reason at the time to suspect anything. He was given medication. Little did I know he wasnt taking it. I dont know why he took the baby other then to maybe hurt me, the child, or prove a point. How can you even guess what a mentally ill person is thinking?
