Exactly. This was all about the current Palestinian problems- nothing about Israel. This proposal was conditional- either you do this or you get nothing. The entire first part of his speech, you could substitute the word Iraq for Palestinian.
The key will be to see what Egypt, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan will say. I suspect they will remain pretty quiet- a silent, supportive quiet. I think they were told by the Bush admin what was going to come down. And he did mention Egypt and Jordan as key players.
LOVED GWB calling out all Arab states regarding supporting terrorism. I do wish he would have said something about accountability for that- ahem, Saudi Arabia.

The only way Bush would do that is if he's got sources of oil to counteract an Arab embargo.
Hmm... didn't I read in the Washington Times recently that there may be another coup in Venezuela? We know Bush is close with Vincente, and Mexico's got a fair amount of oil.
Then this energy deal with Russia... I have a hunch that the infrastructure may not be as far away from handling exports as you postulated earlier. I don't see how Bush would give what is just about an ultimatum unless he had enough oil to counter an embargo by OPEC.

You are the first besides me that I have seen to state this simple fact. I would add some emphesis....All the moderate Arabs are part of the solution. The initial Cheney trip was declared a failure and the sheeple here and elsewhere bought the press line.
Cheney was the President's agent delivering the plan and they all bought it. Cheney's mission was a total success. The Speech today is the fruit.
President Bush and Crown Prince Abdullah will be histories hero's. Their time is now. The plan is unfolding.
