I don't know why we continue to plow the same ground over and over and over. You're probably right, it was a speech nothing more.
But it sounded good. Many of us hope for a major ground shift...in the right direction.

Looks like I've missed one heck of a "happening" :-)
I LOVED President Bush's speech. It is what is called for in the situation.
I'm going to have to go back and read holdonnow's posts now -- LOL -- I'm sure I'll be impressed with his big and generous heart, his fairness and his ability to be gracious even when the stakes are as high as they are in the Palestinian/Israeli/Arab conflict. It must take a massive intellect to see the benefits of a world war :-)
Sheesh...

I hope you're right. It makes me nervous to disagree with Mark Levin and if Rush, like Hannity, is using Levin as the only source for his opinion on Israel, tomorrow won't be pretty.
It's never bothered me that people like Rush and Hannity use Larry Kudlow for financial policy and Mark Levin for questions on legal stuff in the news, there's too much for one person to keep up on. But when they, apparently, use a trusted source who is semi-blind on a subject...that ain't good. I think that's what happened.

The "carrot" offered by Bush to the Muslims was to the effect: "may you strive to find the better angels of your nature, so that once again you may prosper as you have not for far too long." Regarding that, I say amen.

It's still no excuse for dozens of Bush supporters to descend on him, and act like he's the antichrist or something. He's a fellow freeper, one with an opinion that is worth as much as yours or mine, and should be respected as such. Don't you agree? Opinions are respected - name-calling is not. He was calling people stupid, and a bunch of other ones. I mentioned that I thought we were to be respectful - or is that merely for the peons. He answered "yes".
Apparently that is his attitude - we are to follow the rules but not the "great one" as some call him. I frankly don't like that attitude from anyone.

"Rush and others have had a chance to meet some of us in person. They know that all FReepers aren't like the bullies and "our guy or noone" people that populate these threads." Huh? Did I ask you if you ever met Rush in person? Do I care? I asked you, as a member of this forum, if you supported the smear that he made then, and has made continuously to this forum. You try to separate yourself, when it's expedient. It doesn't work that way.......

Never said I had a plan for PBA Torie. But it's nice to see the meds are still working for you. If you want to argue with someone, ping someone else.

If you weren't talking about pba, what's the "decapitating babies" BS about?
Here's a tip for the future:

Bennett started to be very critical of Dubya at about the same time, or maybe even a little before, Rush started his Bush-bashing.

Of course, my father is a Democrat. That's his problem, and apparantly yours. "Of course" I'm not.
I come from a family of hardcore Republicans and have been a registered Republican for years. My wife and I were members of the Broward County Young Republicans actively participated in Jeb's campaign. I also participated in several rallies with other well known FReepers here in FL for your beloved spender of my money.
You wouldn't know any of that though would you? You'd rather assume something is wrong with those who have a problem with government loving RINOs who tap at bibles then break the promises they made while holding their hands over them.
To: quidnunc
What is your fixation on Rush all about?
To: Torie
You have a good evening too Torie. I just don't have a few hours to burn tonight.
