Which implies, if the DNC has it and says they found it on a floppy on a streetcorner, that the DNC is obviously lying (oh, knock me over with a feather I am so shocked).

I assume that the presentation was both on a laptop hard drive, and a cd-r. When dealing with high powered people like this, you want to have a backup copy just in case the laptop bites the dust for unexpected reasons (I've had it happen to me). You would make the backup copy on cd-r because it cannot be accidentally erased, are cheap, and they hold 700 MB of info. I also assume that since this hotel deals with people from the RNC, that it has the latest and greatest hardware available, but I doubt that anyone from a security standpoint alone, would be dumb enough to leave anything on an uncontrolled system.
