Evelyn Buitrago was laid off from her high-paying consulting job at Accenture in Miami in September. But she is happy to have more time to spend with her family and is looking for more personally fulfilling work, most likely at a lower salary.

Working in a occupation you love for less money vs. working in a job you don't enjoy for more money ..... makes sense to me.
Working in an occupation that allows you the amount of time you want for your family (or whatever) vs. working in a job where you have little free time but make more money ... makes sense to me.
That this is news to some people? ..... Doesn't make sense to me.
