After this November, the following will be off this list: Bob Barr (if he loses to Linder in the primary), John Cooksey (unless he drops out of his senate race against Sen. Landrieu), Lindsey Graham (very likely to be the next junior senator from South Carolina), Tony Hall (appointed to the Bush Administration), Robin Hayes (if he can't hold off his general election opponent in a Democrap gerrymandered district), Brian Kerns (lost in primary), Marge Roukema (retiring), Bob Schaffer (retiring), and Bob Stump (retiring). You'll also note that RINOs (as some have called them) Shays, Roukema, and Norwood are on this list.

Rep. John Culberson is a great guy, I really admire him as well as Rep. Tancredo for their stance on the immigration issue. I have been unhappy with the Republicans lately, but I will vote for them this year, especially as there is a Senate seat up for grabs here in Texas. But, if Dubya does win his Congress and Senate and still pushes through an amnesty, I will be very disappointed in him and will not vote for him or those that help him pass an amnesty.

I tend to think that Barr will beat Linder in the election.

Barr is unlikely to lose the primary. I think Hayes will hold on too. However, Congressman David Phelps (D-IL), a socially conservative Dem from southern Illinois, will probably be off the list next year because his district has been merged with a solid Republican one (this was because the Illinois GOP was stupid enough to let Mayor Daley talk them into keeping all of Chicago's districts in "exchange" for eliminating a rural Dem)

But, who knows, maybe Congressman Smirkus (likely to beat Phelps) will join the new caucus to please his disgruntled consituents in the bottom part of the state.

I think the end result might actually be more members of the Immigration caucus than 2001-2002, given that the GOP will probably have several new conservative congressman in the southwest. I'd expecting some folks from Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, and Texas to join...and perhaps a couple from midwestern or southern states (incumbant or upcoming) to join up.
